Would "The Root.com" Publish A List Of Failed Promises Against The Politicians That The Black Establishment Machine Has Blessed?

The Root.com On Promised Donations To Haiti: The Gap Between Promises And Reality

I get it.  I applaud "The Root.com" for keeping an eye on Haiti long after others have moved on to more proximate issues.  Those who receive a bit of glory and self-aggrandizement when they made the promises at the time of desperation need to be shown a "video tape" so that they are reminded at a later date.

The ability for a media organization to raise awareness, muckrake and hold people accountable is one of the most  fundamental and valuable services that they provide to the public.  They speak for the masses who, while remembering what they were promised have no oracle of their own to speak to those who have moved on.

The Black media was founded for a similar purpose.  It filled a hole that was left by the bigoted mainstream media at the time as they ignored the Black community or slandered the people when they did talk about them.

As a person who sees the present need to fill the void that is left by the "vision problem" that many in the Black Establishment Press have I picture myself as a force that works to keep them honest - in line with our community's permanent interests.

Will The Root.com Ever Publish A List Of Promises That The Black Establishment Has Made To The Black Community As It Set Up The Framework For Our Political Activism And Thus Prescribed To Us A Pharmacological Solution To Our Community's Problems?

My question to "The Root.com" is not about "gotcha politics".  I am noting what they are doing in Haiti as they remind the powers that be and I am simply asking if they are willing to ask this same question of the Black Progressive Establishment who now have control over the key institutions.  They too made promises in the past regarding how our community would benefit if we did our part to promote them, their ideology and their political party into power.

Who is the entity within the Black community that is keeping an index of promised made versus promises delivered?

Who dares make note of the transition of the indictment from amorphous condemnations of all of America for "what THEY did to us in the past" over to the recognition that people who we as Black people found favorable now run the key institutions where we live in our highest concentrations?

Where are the Black professional managers within this media who know that an entity or collection of people can only progress forward IF there is a transparent "human resource management plan" that is prioritized over any particular entrenched interest of ideology?

Why, finally am I wrong for taking the same framework that this elite Black media outlet has used to scrutinize others who made commitments and use it as a template to force Black America to show the audacity to demand that those who we put into power follow through?

Are you fearful that if YOU start asking for too much of them that they will break, where you will have to take down their portraits that are hanging on the walls at the government center because you conspired in them losing?

What exactly have you WON?

  • Quality Education - Achieved?
  • Safe Streets - Has this been managed into fruition?
  • Thriving Local Economies - Are our people contributing to our economic rise?
  • Healthy Lifestyle and Relationship Outcomes -Do we yet have the 'love' that Cornel West keeps talking about?
  • Comprehensive and Enduring Solutions
  • A Preference For Organic Solution So That Competencies Can Be Developed
WHO exactly is guarding our interests?
