"The Root.com" Inspects "Why Obama's Approval Rating Amongst Blacks Remains So High"

The Root.com: What's With Obama's High Approval Ratings Among Blacks?

Let me also post the subtitle of the story because its contents are important to my argument:
As the president's poll numbers sag among whites and other Americans, conservatives claim that racial allegiance keeps numbers high among African Americans. Here's what they haven't factored in.
I view this blog, "Politics, Policy, Pathology and Hope...WITHIN The Black Community" as a blog that is directed toward "Progressives who are Democrats who are Black".   In my review of the artifacts who's authors represent as "Black Positions" I know from my research that you are not going to hear a perspective that is different from your own.  "Black Unity" of thought is the #1 goal of the various tentacles of the Black Progressive Establishment.

When some of you read the subtitle that I have posted above you will fail to note that the author of the piece, Cord Jefferson, starts off doing what I have observed that you all do:  Put his adversary on trial.

In his statement "CONSERVATIVES claim that racial allegiance keeps numbers high among African America.  Here's what they haven't factored in", Mr Jefferson has no concept of the rest of the universe of thought that exists.  This is the time and space in which he ponders what "Black people and Progressives HAVEN'T FACTORED IN which would bring Obama's 'Black Support' into the range of the national reference.

NO REFERENCE TO OUR PERMANENT INTERESTS

When Mr Jefferson noted that "Blacks always vote for the Democrats" a tear welled up inside of my minds eye.

In the article Mr Jefferson produces a list of Black Republicans who Blacks have not voted for as evidence that Blacks are not "voting their race".  For most people this rationally proves his point - "Blacks are voting for those that we believe represent our best interests".

The problem with Cord Jefferson and most other "Democrats who are Black" - they never layout their Permanent Interests and clarify the difference between those who have a policy set that is to the popular liking and thus INTENT TO deliver upon our interests versus any construct for empirical measure of if our interests are actually BEING ACQUIRE.  The ride is more important than the actual arrival at the destination.  For certain progressive operatives - as long as Black people stay unified along the ride and fight against our agreed upon adversaries - all is well.   The presence of movement alone is evidence of absolute advancement.

Despite all of this I find that the best source of my material regarding how my people actually think where we presently reside in reference to the attainment of our interests come from the very people who proclaim how fortunate that we should all be that they have lead us.

You see they make reference to the "good fight" that they are making against the conservative forces who, if they had their way - we'd be re-enslaved or at minimum put out of the country to the south of the border along with the Mexicans.  To them the threat from the outside adversary and their perpetual fight against him is the raise d'etre for their movement.

Obama's 90% popularity among Black people is a derivative of the notion that he is fighting against the White Supremacist/Republican/Conservative adversary that is seeking to derail his presidency.......BECAUSE HE IS BLACK. With the chocolate syrup of "Soul" that has been poured over the leftwing/progressive nougat core that lurks within - when "Progressives who are Black" fight to defend the Black president against assault - they also get to fight for progressivism. The White Snarling Fox Liberals that join in on the defense have their smile that is cast upon us certified once again as they arrive at another checkpoint prior to being allowed access into our protected core.

The key point that is missed in this reference is that President Obama represents the ideology and methodology that already dominates our local communities. The "new hope" that is cast upon what Obama will do for Black America in the future smothers over the disillusionment that was so painful when:

  • The first Black mayor
  • The first Black council president
  • The first Black county board chair
  • The first Black school superintendent
  • The first Black governor
  • The first modern Black US senator
held so much promise in how this new power would benefit the Black community.

When I use the constant analogy of the Black Progressive Establishment keeping us focused upon moving up to the next plateau of the mountain while avoiding accountability for the state of affairs in the lower rungs which they already control - the mountain is the "American political architecture":   local/county/state/federal rungs on the mountain of government.

In the circular reference of progressive theory - continued grievance after assuming control over an entity means that there has not been enough power amassed by progressives to effect the change "that you can believe in".   Thus there is a need to stay unified and grasp more power before we can expect the changes to take root.  "The adversary has been much more powerful and willing to do more underhanded things than we had anticipated.  Please help us with our fight by not losing faith in our 'Mission from God' ".

The Complicit Black Press

Out of all of the operatives that are committed to insuring that Obama remains popular among Black people regardless of the condition of our "Permanent Interests" the Black Press stands as the most guilty of co-conspirators against our community interests in protection of their permanent friend.  Surely "The Root.com" is an element of this scheme.

There is a glowing need for an independent and conscious Black press more than ever today.
If it were so this press would see that the material condition of the Black community that is confined by a commitment to ORGANIC GROWTH, using our human resources as the primary agent of propulsion is not a function of the domination of the preferred political party and ideology that is in place.  If the claim that is pushed upon us were true then our communities in Chicago, New York, Atlanta and Washington DC would be thriving beyond all measure because these places have such a power base in place.

Thus we must conclude that the 90% Black support rate for Barack Obama is not an index of the present "standard of living" seen by Black Americans in our community but instead is centrally a derivative of the permanent struggle that many Blacks believe that we are engaged in within the "American Political Domain".

We can't make the mistake of making a "popularity assessment" from Black people yet fail to make a deeper inspection in which the reference to our permanent interests is made.

Sadly, if in the year 2012 Black America's key vital statistics that are represented in the "Misery Index" remain as they are or even atrophy - this will have little noted effect on the voting pattern seen by the Black voter.  Thus we must conclude that VOTING and the political power in place is not directly indicative of the condition of Black America. Indeed this arrangement might dictate the inward flow of resources to our community in support of the nation's commitment to its "the least of these" population.   My logic tells me, however, that the outward projection of organic productivity from a well managed set of human resources does a far better job at defining this seemingly elusive high standard of living.
