Despite Decades Of Loyalty Some "Democrats Who Are Black" Say That The Entire NYC Political Scene Is RACIST

From The Article:
Brooklyn Councilman Charles Barron said Monday his new minority-led Freedom Party got enough signatures to get on the statewide ballot against the Democrats' all-white ticket.

"No longer are we going to allow the Democrats to take the black vote for granted," Barron said at a rally on the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall, in front of stacks of petitions with what he said were 43,500 signatures needed to gain entry on the ballot this fall.

"This party is a black- and Latino-led party that is open up to everybody," said Barron. "If we take care of blacks and Latinos, the state will be better off."

Barron is the party's candidate for governor, with Eva Doyle of Buffalo running for lieutenant governor and Ramon Jimenez of the Bronx for attorney general.

All of the Democrats' statewide candidates are white except for Gail Goode, running a longshot campaign against Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

Many Black folks love a struggler.  The louder and "unpurchased" that struggler is - the greater proof that he is resolute in his fight for "the Black and the Least Of These".  While poor and Black people of his district in Brooklyn voted for this Democratic Party machine for many decades - they still remain poor despite all of the promises and passion expressed as anger in the legislative chambers.

Many who see this formation of the "Freedom Party" (Note: I believe it was originally called the "New York Freedom Democratic Party" ) will see this as an advance for the representation of Black and poor people in New York.  Instead of going along with the antics of the Democratic Party from which they come - they chose to split off and form their own party that has more concern for "Black interests".

When I make measure of these events, however, I turn back to Charles Barron and his party founders and I ask "After decades of you prompting us to stand with those who you now call RACISTS why should we trust your latest round of advice?  With your community continuing to be poor and the schools underperforming - exactly who has benefited on your watch besides this same Democratic Party to whom your anger is now directed?"

You see folks - you are not going to get this type of disposition and analysis from the establishment Black press.  With the entire lot of them being leftists they realize that if they were to factionalize on the Democratic left that this would allow the right-wing Republicans to gain power.

In as much as they are focused upon their entrenched ideological position and their field position in the political football game that Malcolm X warned us against they are not going to be primarily focused upon:

  • The state of the local economy in Brooklyn and beyond
  • The condition of their schools
  • The safety of their streets
all of these institutions being presently dominated by people of the proper ideology and party at present.

We cannot be continuously fooled by these distortions.  As Black people we are often asked to favor those forces who are going to "GIVE US" resources as proof that they care.   The policies and theories upon which these actions are based upon need not develop organic competencies within our communities.  Thus the backdrop of continued poverty does not cause Mr Barron and others to be tossed out of office.  Instead they remain as valuable voices for the "poor people" and in their skills of elocution they are needed even more in the legislative chambers - never having trained up a young upstart from their ranks - the schools having failed to prepare him or her.

ACTIVISM VS MANAGEMENT

The pattern is so clear to all who care to notice

ACTIVISM - Focusing upon the forces that are ultimately external to your own eco-system, demanding your Social Justice RIGHTS FROM THEM.  The entitlements that are derived from the informal contract that you have with them per your residency in the same political district - locally, state-wide or nationally

MANAGEMENT  - A more direct engagement of the proximate human resources.   Those who stand to benefit the most from the reform of the theories and actions within the eco-system should be looked upon as the key vehicles upon which such reforms will be brought to fruition.   As they practice the ethos that their fully healed selves will practice these thoughts will become of their own and will be propagated on to others - especially the children who live with them.  These reformed action will bring the people wealth, resources, education - the majority of the entitlements that they presently seek outward.

Who is keeping a tab on Charles Barron and his fellow "Freedom Party-mates"?
