Warrant Issued For An Arrest In The Grocery Store Stabbing
Today I went to the murder scene where Baik "Pa Pa" Sung was stabbed to death.
This community which has close proximity to the Atlanta University Center is plagued with violence and murder. The 'most deadly block in Atlanta' - the intersection of "Joseph E Lowery Blvd and Joseph E Boone Blvd" is about 10 blocks away from the "West View Super Market" where this latest murder took place.
I started my tour of this community where I had left off about 7 months ago - at the former Publix Supermarket building on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd near James P Brawley Drive. The closing of this location back in December 2009 added to the general area's classification as a "Food Desert".
I used my GPS to direct me to the location of the "West View Super Market". My path took me down MLK Dr, left on Joseph E Lowery and then through some side streets.
Along the way I could not help but to notice the abundance of political campaign signs scattered all over the place in preparation for - what is in THIS community is what functions as "General Election" but - the "Party Primary" elections for most other places. (More on this entire subplot during a subsequent post).
As I made my way down Peebles Street and then turned onto Westview I noticed something that caught my eye - just as I had reported about before in the "Old Fourth Ward": A telephone pole memorial marking the sight of a death.
I continued down the block and saw the unmistakable location of the "West View Super Market". The red building I remembered from the news coverage.
Let me say unequivocally:
The Members of the community around this place DID NOT kill Baik "Pa Pa" Sung. It was one Street Pirate who committed the violent murder because Sung stood in the way of him stealing the money that he sought. The majority of the members of this community are hard working and honest people. They have the misfortune of being FORCED TO LIVE NEAR STREET PIRATES that terrorize them.
Unfortunately the street pirates are metastasized from the community order that is present within this place. They have failed to apply the necessary "Human Resource Management Practices" that are required to develop these young men into "Pillars Of the Community" instead of fermenting into "Street Pirates" that have their way with the community.
Had I not gone to this scene in person I would not have seen the relative closeness of this place to the Morehouse College campus. More importantly - had I not driven the course that I did - because Westview Dr was closed for construction - I never would have seen the proximity between the first murder scene that I drove by and the second one - the store - to which I was originally motivated to inspect.
From The Former Publix Location To The Former West View Super Market Location - Now Closed Because The Owner Was Forced Out Of Business The Permanent Way
This killing has got to stop.
More importantly - those who have position (parents and politicians) must stop misappropriating the interests of the community and work to make sure that the community is healthy by effectively managing the human resources that are contained within.
Failing to do so will mean another telephone pole memorial will soon be erected.
