The Indiana Black Expo Shootings - A Violation Of Three Of The Community Permanent Interests

  1. Safe Streets
  2. Quality Education
  3. Thriving Local Economies
  4. Healthy Lifestyle & Relationship Outcomes
  5. Solutions That Are Comprehensive & Enduring
  6. Solutions That Favor The Development Of Organic Competencies

The violence that marred the honorable event known as the "Indiana Black Expo" violated the community permanent interests highlighted above.

Our Safe Streets are needed so that our people can congregate together in peace without the fear of violence so that our "social fabric" can be strengthened.

Thriving Local Economies where those within the community that have goods or services to exchange with those who have needs suffer economic suppression as both supplier and consumer fear the environment within which these exchanges take place.

The principle of Healthy Relationship Outcomes has been violated as we see that those who engaged in violent conflict (or untimely expressions of less lethal violence) have a low sense of conflict resolution by which their disagreements could be settled.

Today as I drove home from church, listening to NPR, my shoulders dropped with shame upon hearing that multiple people suffered from a Street Pirate attack at the "Indiana Black Expo".

The organizers of the "Black Expo" are not responsible for this. I have attended several such events in my adult life and this is a forum that allows Black merchants and craftsmen and authors to expose their wares to the consuming public. Sadly their event will be tarred in the future and a stronger police presence will be demanded in the subsequent years.

The Black Establishment did not do this either. These type of episodes that take place at an event that is associated with Black Americans prove most embarrassing to them. More on this later.

There is no intrinsic set of violence associated with the gathering of a large Black crowd. This week in Atlanta the "National Black Arts Festival" was executed without any reports of violence.

The fault resides primarily with the "equal human beings" who came into contact with what they perceived as a threat to their own notions what should be afforded to them in RESPECT. They chose to act violently in response to it. Most chose a fist fight as was captured on the video above. A few chose to fire a gun, thus teaching that person who was in the gun sights a less that will scar them for life. That is if they survived the exchange of gun fire in the first place.

When Blacks Were Assaulted In The South We Focused On The Eco-System That Produced Such Hatred

What caused the individuals who engaged in fights and gunshots to become consciously blinded about where there were and the greater impact to the community as a result of their individual disputes?  I am not arguing that it would be permissible for them to fight back in their own community but "put on their Sunday best" because they are attending the "Black Expo".   I am instead arguing the reverse - The presence of the Black Expo, which was housed in downtown Indianapolis was not enough to mask the dysfunctional and violent thoughts and interactions that were resident in the minds of the portion of the attendees who chose to act violently.

Those who point to the violence committed by the state (the USA's foreign policy) often refer to this on the course of dismissing the critical inspection of events such as this which transpired in Indiana.   We must understand that while this obfuscation might indeed take the heat off from the external criticism it does NOT serve as a fix to the original set of dysfunctional conscious thoughts which lead to the violence.  Until we stop being appeased with obfuscatory INDICTMENTS and instead realize that we must MANAGE our way out of these problematic situations - our communities will continue to be the source of a disproportional amount of "police crime scene tape".

The Overcompensation Effect By The Black Establishment

Upon seeing this even and suffering from the same racial embarrassment that I have felt the tentacles of the Black Establishment will prepare themselves for 3 days worth of incessant commentary on this violent act at a Black event that Fox News and company will likely put forth.  They will be on the look out for the critical commentary that Black Conservatives like me put forth.  Of course they will generate their own original source material.

The amplification of the "New Black Panther Party" hate-speech by the right was, in my view, a hedge against the "NAACP Convention" that was on the horizon.  With George Bush and the Republicans out of power the NAACP had to find a new target to attack at its annual convention.   It picked up upon the Tea Parties as a worthy racism chasing target.  There is no doubt that in the coming days this Black Expo shooting will be a bit of a checkmate seen by some.

Sadly the Black Establishment will go on the defensive over this event BUT will scour the nation for some other event by which they can return the volley by rendering an indictment against the "White Right Wing".

THE MALCOLM X POLITICAL FOOTBALL GAME IS IN TRIPLE OVERTIME!!!!

The fact that our community is caught within this vortex is proof that we lack conscious leadership that is focused upon proper management of the key human resources that determine our quality of life and standard of living.   They are far more stimulated by this external battle.

I am hoping that the Black rank & file gets "sick and tired of being sick and tired" of this wanton violence and murder within out communities and will instead take more direct action in cutting out the middle man establishment order and instead realize that the proper inculcation of the young people that matriculate through this eco-system is the only way to mitigate the actions that later turn into embarrassment that later turn into fear that later turn into the AVOIDANCE of these type of conscious events that fortify our community.

The economic choice between BENIGN NEGLECT as these internal resources are left abandoned as we focus on external threats that keep us more passionately unified OR the choice to focus on that which is more near and dear and malleable yet costly if we fail to invest the time is the decision at hand.
