In today's "USA Today" Black opinion-opinion columnist DeWayne Wickham (D) argues that the NAACP (D) is failing to call out President Barack Obama (D) for his failure to address the Black Community's (D) unemployment problems as they called out President Ronald Reagan (R).
In his cadence he pretends that there was a distinction between:
- Barack Obama
- The NAACP
- The Black Community
I heard NAACP head Ben Jealous on TVOne this past weekend removing all pretenses that his organization is anything more than the Democratic Party ground troops WITHIN the Black community. He talked about how legislation in support of Black people's interests will enjoy top priority until January 2011 - the time at which the new Republican controlled congress will be seated - if the predictions come true. Of course Jealous and crew are going to do everything in their power to insure that this does not happen. Then jealous lashed out against crumbling schools in the Black community and limited job opportunity.
Throughout his tantrum I never once got the impression that the NAACP or his co-conspiring panelists - Democratic Strategist Dr Ronald Walters and prime-complicitor in chief Roland Martin understood the irony of their viewpoints. In as much as they all have worked to secure the Democratic and Progressive control over the key institutions WITHIN the Black community and the policies there in - there was never any hint that the places that have the most concentrated does of their own ideology also seem to be "brown fields" where no economic flowers are able to grow.
It is so clear that the Progressive ideology mandates the NATIONALIZATION of the issues that they have failed to address despite their increasing power. How is it that someone who can show us how powerful they are as proven by the elected seats they have over a community can also point to the fact that despite this growth - nothing has substantively changed since 1963 when the previous "March On Washington For Jobs And Justice" took place?
Think about it - WHAT IS YOUR VALUE ADD in the resolution of your problems?
Who is stronger? Your community's ability to engage, educate and deploy the human resources within OR the political party and machine which it is attached to that controls your community?
I have given up on any possibility of seeing a member of the "Black Establishment Press" take a step back and see the gross ironies that the brilliant rays of light from the blast furnace which they have fed the hopes and dreams of Black folks has blinded them to. I know of no management scheme in which the aggregate quality standard of the conglomerate is proven by the competent governance of the field office. These operatives who are a part of the Black establishment took control over the governance of field offices known as the Black community. Now their chief indictment is against the corporate headquarters for failing to provide them with the resources that they need to handle their affairs.
They fail to see that the corporate office's job is to set standards to which others subordinates are to abide by. They would have it to be the centralized resource distribution point. The "profit center" at the local level is turned into a local distribution center, receiving its goods from upon high.
Why is it that DeWayne Wickham failed to see the irony of his own callout of the NAACP? He pretends that they are not an appendage of the same machine that policy set that Obama is incarnation of. For the NAACP to seriously call out Obama's for his failure to employ Black people they would have to make a tacit admission that they too have failed.
In Detroit Michigan there exists one of the most powerful NAACP branches around the nation. If the NAACP was inclined to do such callouts about the crash and burn of employment opportunities for Black people - we would have heard the calling long before now.
