Damon Evans Out As UGA Athletic Director Following DUI Arrest

Evans’ settlement: 3 months salary plus previously earned $100,000 bonus

Like it or not the University of Georgia saw the potential contradiction of allowing a top ranked official who gives out media messages and punishment to athletes warning them about public drunkenness and drunk driving with such an infraction under his belt.

For a man that was earning $550,000 per year why not have a driver when there are so many other public officials with lower salaries that obtain one?   Whereas these other officials are provided with a budget for a driver Mr Evans makes more than $200,000 more than the Atlanta Public Schools chief, for example, he could afford to hire a driver for occasions that he will be drinking.

This is a big loss for his family.

This idiot deserves to lose his job as UGA AD! What a poor example for everyone at the university.
