Will The Black Establishment Demand That the State and National Democratic Party Support Alvin Green (D-SC)?

Anyone who tracks the activism done by many who claim to be acting in the "Black Best Interests" will note that at times their thrust is merely to make a statement.  The presidential runs by Shirley Chisholm, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were not done because any of them thought that they could win.  Instead they put their hats into the ring so that they could have their voices heard.

In as much as the Progressives claim that they represent "the little man" against the powerful corporate and political establishment - they have a "little guy" right in front of them.  Just not of their own choosing.

Consider all of the candidates who are put forth with the goal of having a debate with the "Washington Insider" with the goal of giving that insider a dose of reality from the perspective of the "little guy".

Imagine if Alvin Greene was on stage with Senator Jim DeMint and asked DeMint if he knows the price of a loaf of bread or if he has a clue about how the "long term unemployed" are making it through the tough times of today?

Normally the "establishment player" like DeMint would resist even having a public debate lest some embarrassment occur.   Instead we see the "Democratic Party Establishment" and SC Representative James Clyburn that are acting as the filter, insuring that Alvin Greene never gets the opportunity to appear on stage and speak for "the little people".

A Demand For Equal Treatment By The Establishment Machine

The latest news is that the South Carolina Democratic Party will not seek to oust Alvin Greene as their candidate for US Senator.   They realize that regardless of how he got on the ballot enough Democrats voted for him to bring him over the top.  If they were to seek to overturn the will of the people they would open themselves up to certain unsavory charges.

I must say, however, that there would need to be a group of activists who are noting these "unsavory actions" and then speaking out against them.  Thus far they seem rather complicit on all of the attacks on Mr Greene.

Beyond his qualifications which fall short there is the issue of equal treatment and respect.  I will be watching the Black Establishment forces to make note of their demands upon the state and national Democratic Party to provide resources to the campaign of Alvin Greene.   Again - not because he is Black but BECAUSE he was duly elected to represent the Democratic Party in the general election for US Senator from the state of South Carolina.

• What will they say if Mr Greene goes to the state party and asks for campaign funds - just as others do?
• What will they say if Mr Greene phones DNC chairman Kaine and asks for him to send some national figures through South Carolina to "take one for the PARTY"?

Is there anyone who sees how Alvin Greene could be turned into a "Little Man against the Establishment" story?  Are they knocking on his door and offering marketing help to him?
Are there any muckraking documentary film makers that will be following Mr Greene around from now until November, tracking his efforts to connect with the people?

If not - why not?
