The photographic negative between conservative and progressive on the subject of individuals vs business is so clear.
Today on "ABC News Sunday" Rahm Israel Emanuel -, Chief Of Staff for the Obama Administration sought to distinguish the Obama Administration's way of doing business with that of (who else) the Bush Administration.
Emanuel noted that while the Bush Administration wrote a check to General Motors and handed it to them without any conditions so that they might reform the behavior that got them into a hole, the Obama Administration set up certain strict conditions before giving them the money.
In addition as Emanuel detailed their negotiations with BP in the White House this past week he made sure to use the word "forced them to....." in every phrase. "They were unwilling to drill a second relief well and we forced them to do so".
It goes without saying that those on the Progressive-Left who see corporations as the epitome of evil, greed and American imperialism they are quite happy to see Obama "put their boot on the corporation's necks".
Corporations Are Obama's "Welfare Queens
If we revert back to President Reagan - he was attacked for standing up the image of the "Welfare Queen" in order to tear her down. His attacks were gratuitous and malicious. With every punch against this strawman Reagan's base grew happy.
Take this same model of the "Welfare Queen" and apply it to Barack Obama's (and the Anti-Corporate left's) usage of corporations and banks. They too make gratuitous attacks upon their enemy for nothing more than to rile up their base.
With all of the scrutiny of "Take Back America" as doublespeak for the intention to bring back Jim Crow, it is stunning to see that "Boot On Their Necks" has gone unchallenged by the Left who would otherwise go berserk if Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona said the same phrase regarding his crack down on criminals in his county.
What Did President Obama Demand In The Way Of Reforms For Individuals Who Took Government Money That He Dolled Out?
The conservative is known for having "Welfare To Work" programs. Instead of having people sit back and get fat off of the government checks that come in they demand that the individual show some proof that they are at least trying to fly out of the nest.
The conservative is most inclined to show "tough love". The progressive is likely to lift the bird out of the nest, raise his arms and then run, hoping that the bird will get the message and fly. Putting to use the elements of his physiology that God crafted for him to fly, soaring in the sky.
As the narrative goes the Progressive cares more for this bird. He is more in tune with all of the challenges that this individual has suffered which now prevents him from flying. The web of assistance in showing the INTENTION of restoring the birds ability to fly is said to place him close to God up above per his grace.
I have the viewpoint that certain ASSUMED INFERIORITIES can be inculcated, passed from one generation to the next as some perverted badge of honor.
How is it that the "get tough on them so that they will perform" is a favorable disposition between Obama and corporations yet when it comes to placing conditions upon individuals Obama and other leftists believe these individuals to be too delicate to assume such a weight upon them?
