Snitch says narc lied to jail alleged drug dealers. Did he?
For seven years, Ventura Martinez has worked as one of the city's most productive police informants, bringing down more than 200 drug and gun dealers.
But Martinez now says that some of the police jobs were tainted, rooted in lies and motivated by power, greed and money.
In summary - despite the political victory that Philadelphia represents after decades of struggle to configure the city in this manner the best that we can say is that the City of Philadelphia, which still has corruption and dysfunction - is now controlled by "favorable people" per the wishes of the voting populace.
Those of us who are a bit more introspective on present situation are forced to ask: "The NEXT TIME some group of operatives comes along and tells you of their plans to make your community better per your continued support of their agenda - WILL YOU ASK BETTER QUESTIONS prior to falling in line with their wishes?"
Surely they won. They even invited you to their victory parties along the way for you to celebrate and dance.
The question is - Did you win?
What was it that you won?

"THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH", this is among the very first lessons in business. Somebody is bound to always pay. Especially when it comes to corruption.
