First let me say - in my opinion - the better of the two men running for the Democratic Party nomination to run on the ticket for governor of the state of Alabama lost.
Few people will note the irony of what has transpired in Alabama yesterday (or at least the analysis of it).
The analysis says "Low Black voter turn out imperiled Artur Davis' bid to be the first Black governor".
Keep in mind that when elite and enlightened critics inspect the state of Alabama they note the WHITE racism within the state that serves as the foundation of the state's "backwardness". This same backward state has snagged several marque manufacturing plants from these enlightened states in the north and the west including two brand new auto manufacturing plants employing thousands. But that's another story for another day.
The racism in their analysis seems to fly over their heads. It appears that only the White voter is expected to put aside his race and vote for the best candidate. When it comes to the Black voter we are either "inspired to come out and vote for the Democratic candidate or we stay home". Adding to this with the "Black candidate" - Artur Davis - ruffling the favors of the Old Civil Rights Battle Guard they refused to mount a "Get The Blacks Out To Vote For The Black Democrat" campaign that they are known to do.
I've noted several times before that the question that must be put upon the Black voter is NOT "Why do you always vote for the Democrat". This is far too easily dismissed. Instead the key question must be - "Considering that you largely have the political machine that you favor in place and yet you are still grieving.....why do you continue to do what you do?". This includes voting as a means of racial salvation and not just who you vote for.
Implicit in all of this is the notion that the Black voter is a "Least Of These" voter. Unlike the White voter who is the "franchise voter", the Black voter is a special interest voter. The operatives who attempt to engineer the Black vote as a block attempt to deliver the maximum amount of these votes to the recipient of their choice. Yet after all of this politicking that is purportedly done on behalf of the Black Community......the actual condition of the Black Community after we have taken their past prescriptions is an afterthought. Clearly there is a game that is being played at our collective expense.

No! Artur Davis imperiled Artur Davis by ignoring blacks.

Just for grins - can you detail the "bend over backwards" job for Blacks the White guy did by comparison?
Funny how in November the White guy, as a Democrat won't have to do anything for Blacks. The NAACP and other Black Establishment organizations, expressing their interests in seeing the Artur Davis seat AND the Governor's seat stay Democrat will run a "Get The Blacks Out To Vote For The Democrat" campaign, usually starting in July prior to the November election.
