"Democrats Who Are Black Who Are Journalists" Want Blacks To Focus On Fighting The Right Wing Rather Than For Our Community's Interests

Cash Michaels - The Wilmington Journal: CAN BLACKS STAND UP TO RIGHT-WING SURGE?, WEEK OF JUNE 3-9, 2010

I am actually envious of certain operatives who are embedded within our community.  They know that the best way for them to protect the establishment powers is to get the Black Rank & File to remain unified against some external enemy.  The alternative is to FRACTURE.  Fracture, ironically over the discontentment with the failure of the establishment powers to deliver upon the goods that they had promised upon obtaining control over all of the institutions of the Black Community.

In his article Cash Michaels, who is syndicated via the NNPA, tells us Black folks that the real threats to us returning to the Jim Crow era are:

• The Tea Parties 
• The Republican Party
• Rand Paul and the claim that he wishes to repeal the Civil Rights Act Of 1964
• and oh get this - School Resegregation

The question and challenge for the black community is what are you going to do about it? And what will you do if it becomes violent, as it did in 1898?

Excuse me Mr Michaels but if you want to see VIOLENCE - just watch the weekend newscast from any major city on the east coast.  You will see several Black people that have been murdered - akin to Mississippi 1928.   What about this "violence" is less "violent" to you than what the White Tea Party person might do to you?

Civil Rights activist and attorney Irving Joyner, associate professor of law at North Carolina Central Univer-sity's School of Law says time is running out for an answer, because the forces opposed to black advancement are moving quickly, deliberately and forcefully to codify their agenda.

I thought that it was the conservatives that played on people's fears?

The main forces that do more to materially oppose the advancement of Black people are those who:

• Provide failing schools despite their present administration over them or - in your case - believe that going to school with White folks is the magic cure
• Take over the local economic markets where we live and yet preside over a massive decline in economic position
• Those who control the Police force, the Criminal Justice System, the Jails - and the HOUSEHOLDS where Black men matriculate through and yet convince themselves that America has a grand conspiracy to destroy Black people by locking up our men - while they can't see that they control every single institution that is in place to alter this course

I will have to investigate the Wilmington Journal.  It might just be more biased than is the "Louisiana Times", another NNPA syndicate.
