Here is what amazes me the most about the way that some of you think. If you had your way you'd have all of us believe that YOU - via your machine - has no power in the local areas and thus should not be inspected as a element of the cause of the present condition.
I am amazed, for example, that Errol Lewis is calling upon the unions and the progressive Democrats to restore manufacturing jobs in America. I heard earlier today that it was "corporations" that departed from the cities thus injuring the Black communities that loyally worked for them, doing all that was necessary to be good employees only to be screwed when they left. For some of you I really believe that you think that if a tale is incessantly repeated it becomes true.
The present political order has certain machine operatives doing as I had predicted. They seek to leverage the vertical structure of the Democratic party which controls both the local places that are in distress in our cities and their present control over the federal executive branch and the Congress to fuse a flow of resources from the federal government to where they are in control locally. This infusion of resources will have them standing as saviors rather than attacked because of the lingering conditions.
Rep Cummings who is feeling the pressure of the economic conditions in Baltimore must first sell the great benefits that the Federal Democrats have bestowed before upon his district. Only then he respectfully suggests that more of the same is needed. It goes without saying that an enemy president and congress would have seen a different letter of a different tone.
Lastly the Black Activists EQUALLY condemn the Democrats and Republicans for having no strategy for poor Black people. I have warned previously about the attempts to EQUALIZE the Democratic and Republican Parties with reference to the Black community. The truth is that with the overwhelming dominance of the Democratic Party and Progressives over the Black Community - their finger prints are on the steering wheel. There is no equality in this matter. The bigger disappointment has to be affixed to that which you have been invested in the most.
