As the story goes - a "Street Pirate" is a person who would have been a model citizen, but for the gross market capital imbalances that are put forth by the American economic system. Having been marginalized - he turns to assailing his own community as a means of eating for another day.
I was recently tasked to provide a plan by which today's "Street Pirate" would be restored into a pillar of the community. Operating as a net asset for the protection of the community values rather than a gross violator of all of the standards that are contained within.
Using Progressive Slogans In A More Localized Fashion
You've heard all of the slogans that are associated with the progressive left:
- People Over Profits
- Living Wage Jobs Now
- Non-Profits Are Better Than For Profit Corporations
In my assessment of the Quasi-Socialist beyond the issues with their economic theories is the issue of SCOPE/SCALE.
A true test of one's theories is what happens when this group ropes off a plot of land and seeks to develop a "prize winning garden" inside the managed area. As such they must take responsibility for all that occurs inside of this managed plot. This also means that they must control the external variables that are cast upon this managed space. Yes to sunlight and clean water. No to weed seeds and hungry herbivores that will eat the succulent vegetation prior to harvest.
If indeed quasi-socialism and the living wage are principles in which a society expresses the valuation of a human being above all of the materialism and private property rights that surround him - what better way to bring this about than by creating a definable "Friends and Family Plan" upon which these values are build up upon?
It seems that it is preferable to have these principles enforced at the national level. The claim of some notion of a "social contract", enforcible only by the Federal government is the glue upon which they are provided with express access to my earnings. I suspect the truth to be otherwise.
One only need to look at how people with money and who seek to protect it act. They are the ones who circle their wagons and keep all outside raiders of their stash at bay. They stand against nationalized tax policies, instead seeking to apply their resources more locally so that those within their friends and family plan, bound to uphold their locally adopted principles are also the primary beneficiaries.
But wait - If "People Over Profits" is your mandate then why are we focusing on money rather than people? Why not make your "Calling Circle", prioritized by people power? Keep your highly valued people in close proximity, working toward the group best interests and upholding the standards of the "pod"?
As my argument goes - a Street Pirate is a violator of his community standards. Absent a purposeful engagement to his community - he prioritizes his selfish instincts and works against the collective values of the community that has the misfortune of having him in close proximity. Ironically some of the same communities that desire his head count on the "US Census" are frightened as they see him walking down the street, having just returned from the Prison Industrial Complex.
In their run up toward a more nationalized social entitlement schema for the purported benefit of the community, the quasi-socialist has, in fact, forgotten about the communities and the dynamics that are contained within. They have perverted the need for a certain "standard of living" had by all into one where the government, making us all "in receive of this living standard" is the equivalent.
How does the individual person operate within this world of universal entitlement? If he works hard and prepares himself - he gets to benefit. If he does nothing to advance the permanent interests of the community - the community still brings him along. By definition this theory of economics will always have external dependencies. The worst possible circumstance, in fact, is if it finds itself all alone, detached from an external source which makes up the difference between its "gross group product" and its consumption demand. Indeed this is a "capitalistic" entity, leveraging the credit line which has been identified by the "national social contract".
Therefore the real question for those who ask "What Of The Street Pirate" should be: "How much do you value full employment and the full development of all individuals in your 'Friends and Family Plan', so much so that you are willing to form an overlay group where people voluntarily yield their personal fortunes for the benefit of the whole?"
In short - why do you demand "national buy in" for the valuation of "equal human beings"? It seems that the desire is for the society to PROVE that it values all within its domain equally. The other portion of the equality equation is constantly deemphasized. This speaks to that which a member of society "owes" to society to substantiate his own equal worth per his ability to shoulder responsibility.
Expanding internationally: Those who claim to have their consciousness upon the diaspora often fail to see that their own "nationalized socialistic" model is a direct threat to any hopes of assisting their brothers and sisters around the world. To do so they would first have to "nationalize" the entitlements that are available to the Chadian , for example. Their present poverty would logically have to be a result from the lack of government (or the presence of Capitalism - which creates poverty). This does not stand to logical reasoning. Instead - in these places, more than all others, the need to compartmentalize and have the benefit of the maximum amount of human resources working toward a higher order is the only way that the land known as Chad will become a wealthy nation. The aggregate economic productivity of all of these pods will be tabulated into the gross domestic product of the nation.
The real question for the American based Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chaser is "Are you a Chadian who just happens to be in close proximity to an abundant river known as "the United States Of America" to which you divert water into your managed garden? OR are you in fact building up a model of society which is functional at the local level, organically productive and thus the SYSTEM is able to be pruned and grafted upon any people, levering their God given capacities to recreate a standard of living that is higher than what the centralized government that may or may not surround them can deliver to them?
Indeed the "Street Pirate" represents a human resource that has been misallocated or under-purposed.
