The MARTA Police deserve applause. (MARTA is the regional transit system in Metro Atlanta.)
Upon the shooting death of a 19 year old young man at the East Point MARTA Station, the police force went to work to nab the Street Pirate who struck. It seems that the victim refused to give up his cellphone without a fight. As a result the Street Pirate shot him, killing him in the process. One man's life taken over a cellphone that was likely subsidized after him signing a two year contract with his cellular carrier. Sadly this young man's life did not endure till contract's end where he would be allowed to choose from a new phone.
The MARTA Police used video surveillance to nab the street pirate.
Few things please me more than to see a Street Pirate doing a perp-walk, facing justice for his assault upon the community.
I should also note that on the same night as the MARTA shooting another young man had his life snuffed out. Some street pirates broke into the music studio where he was working and shot him dead while shooting his friend who lived and is now in the hospital. I hope that we will not have "The Bloody Summer Of Atlanta 2010" this year.
