Cynthia Tucker On "Black Abortions" - So Predictable

“The truth is that behind virtually every abortion is an unintended pregnancy. . .Because black women as a group want the same number of children as white women, but have so many more unintended pregnancies, they are more likely than white women to terminate an unintended pregnancy by abortion to avoid an unwanted birth,” Cohen wrote in a paper entitled, “Abortion and Women of Color: The Bigger Picture.”
If conservatives are sincere about curbing abortions  — among all women, white, black and brown — they should support efforts to broaden women’s health care, which includes reproductive health care. Easy access to contraceptives would encourage their use, thereby reducing unintended pregnancies — and abortions.

Another week goes by.  Another column by AJC opinion writer Cynthia Tucker gets posted.

What do you do when you reach the point where you know what a person is going to say merely by reading the title?

Notice that Ms Tucker reframes the "Black Abortion" issue into one of lack of resources to combat "unintended pregnancies".

Let's inspect the key points that Ms Tucker is not going to address:  Cultural/Social Enforcements.

While Ms Tucker spews out statistics showing that Black women don't have access to "women's health" and contraception (I am actually surprised that she didn't say "......and that's why you should support Obama's Health Care reforms" in her article.  I really am surprised.  This is the common denominator after all) she is loathed to add framing that goes against her inclinations toward "outsourcing to the government".

• Black Women in committed, long term relationships have far fewer abortions
• Black Women who have education and gainful employment - the same

The key point of frustration that I have with Ms Tucker and those of share her ilk is that they see "Black Equal Outcomes" as being the fruit of "SERVICE by the government".  Thus if this society really sees Blacks as EQUAL........they'll prove it to us by providing us with the services that we need to be equal.

One thing that we should not expect to see from Ms Tucker is a more encompassing and holistic plan by which the Black community achieves EQUAL RESULTS by first orchestrating a full court press, applying sound and proven HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT techniques by which the key relationships and timing which have one "gestating human form" considered as 'WANTED PREGNANCY' are accentuated by the aggregate community actions and enforcements while situations in which an identical "gestating human form" which is rendered "unwanted" is suppressed back downward toward a more normal baseline.

Some people prefer "pills/pamphlets and devices".  Their desire to not impede upon the actions of the protected masses - the veritable "Least Of These" have them prefer that they hand out prophylactics by which they are allowed to continue their instinctive actions.  Society is not made to suffer the undue burden of their risky behaviors because all of the essential "body fluids" from which so much of our problems stream from are keep in the right place, having been captured by the condom that the government that Cynthia Tucker favors has handed out to them.

The key flaw in this approach is that there is no "competency distributed to the periphery".  Instead "USAID" branded condoms that are "OEM" by Trojan as they have won the contract will do just fine.
