Why Is "School Choice" Such A Threat To Some People? What Are They Protecting?

Whatever it is that they are protecting it is not "Academic Excellence.

I have a lot of respect for Amy Goodman. Though we disagree ideologically I give her credit as a firm believer in what she does believe in.  She is willing to attack either party when they violate her own world view.  This is a rare characteristic as most people focus on the messenger rather than the message as they formulate their opinions.

On the subject of "School Choice" however, the excessive focus on undermining such a change is raising my curiosity about the agenda of some people.  I believe that they are intent on defending the establishment education system, prioritizing it over the education of the children.  Most assuredly they cannot point to the present system as a stalwart of educational excellence.

I would be more than happy to use Geoffrey Canada  as a character reference for effective results in educational reform.
