What Made Me Yell @ The TV?: Democracy Now: Charter Schools Increase Segregation

You probably do not have the Flash Player (Get Adobe Flash Player Here) installed for your browser or the video files are misplaced on your server!

I need to run out for a meeting and will get back to this one later.

Amy Goodman of "Democracy Now" (which I record and watch everyday) expressed concern that "Charter Schools increase school segregation".

This is reported AS IF "de fecto" segregation where people freely choose where to live is akin to the "de jure" segregation of the past where THE LAW denied or limited the places where people could live, attend school, work or worship.

There will NEVER be a time in this nation where all Black people will have the "privilege" to attend school with a White kid so that he might benefit from the presence of this being via osmosis.

The last unchecked bastion of WHITE SUPREMACY that goes unchecked is in the minds of those who are infected with "Non-White White Supremacy" (or who lobby on behalf of them per their assumed inferiority).

The truth is that there is NOTHING superior about a White school. It is only a set of PROCESSES that provide more effective education in SOME of these "White Schools". The challenge for the Black community is to be able to distill the essential elements of what makes SOME of these schools work - and what allowed President Obama to be molded into the man that he is "despite" being Black and have the courage and discipline to implement this in the school that are majority Black - FIGHTING AGAINST the entrenched culture that will assuredly RESIST any of this effort they don't agree with.
