The The NAACP Rates Elected Officials In Failing Communities High - Should We Start Inspecting The Grade Inflation Of The NAACP?

Tennessee's GOP legislators get failing grades from NAACP

What a surprise.  The NAACP has given an "F" to most of the Republicans in congress.
Keep in mind that these grades are merely the NAACP's judgement on the proper stance that should be had on select pieces of legislation.  Those who voted in the way that the NAACP thought that they should vote received "A's".  Those who voted in a manner that was not agreeable to the NAACP received "F's".

Please be clear no one who received an "F" from the NAACP has lynched a Black person anywhere in America in 2009, thus earning the failing grade.

Please be clear as well - To those of you who read my work and believe that I am promoting the Republicans as I attack yet another Black Establishment Organization - I have no time for you either.

I repeat - The goal for each of us MUST BE to erect a model of the real world that we are working to improve.  This model must be an accurate depiction of all of the forces that impact us - each rendered in its proper PROPORTIONS.   In as much as certain entities who are operating while constrained with certain biases and political agenda - they are unable to craft a model that is an accurate depiction.

Once this model is flawed beyond a certain point with the constructor unwilling to correct his modeling process - it becomes necessary for those who are impacted by their bias to rise up and speak.

EITHER they force correction from this entity or they remove themselves from the "protective veil".  In as much as the NAACP is an Non-Government Organization - I hereby remove myself.  No longer do I choose to have the wool thrown over my eyes.

With respect to the key challenges faced by the average Black person on the street - the NAACP Legislative Report Card is about as relevant as a screw driver to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Why doesn't the NAACP take itself more seriously and produce a LOCAL LEGISLATIVE & EXECUTIVE OUTCOME Report?

The major change with this evaluation is that NO LONGER will the NAACP stake out a preferred voting outcome per its own biases and then judge the executives and legislators based on their relative stance.  INSTEAD the NAACP will

  • More clearly define its own PERMANENT INTERESTS (Education, Safe Streets, etc)
  • Make a measurement of where the communities that contain their branch offices stand
  • Receive packages of platform proposals from all combatants
  • MEASURE the forward progress in total after 2 years, 4 years, 8 years
  • TRANSPARENTLY publish the results in a DISPASSIONATE manner.
The sad truth is that - At present what the NAACP believes to be the best course of action for our people to make it to the "Promised Land" via legislation is not intrinsicly the case.  They merely run a "confidence game" - with the assumption that the favorable legacy that was built up from their past actions, with a heavy dose of "Racism Chasing" at present is enough to keep the Black voting block voting in a manner that is favorable to the NAACP.  This means - for the Progressives and for the benefit of the Democratic Party.

The fact that every single voting district in America which has a 35%+ Black voting base is already controlled by this machine that is favorable to the NAACP is not enough for the NAACP to give out failing grades to accompany their grievances.  Instead they TRY HARDER to support this machine, hoping that with the attainment of more seats of power - the "bill of goods" will be delivered upon.
