The Street Pirate Assault Upon Black Owned Businesses

Note - despite the fact that the picture to the left is not an actual picture of the truck in question - this is a true story.

Earlier this week I stopped by a client's business prior to giving them an estimate for some services in support of some changes that they are planning.

They are a small but multi-million dollar construction services company owned and managed by African immigrants.  They have done well for themselves despite some recent setbacks in which they have had to lay off some employees.

I as drove through their property with their operations VP I noticed that one of their pickup trucks had been totaled  It has substantial front end damage.   I immediately assumed that it had been hit by one of the large earth moving vehicles that they own.  I asked the VP if the employee that had been driving the vehicle got injured during the accident?

He detailed the scenario for me.

A shift supervisor took the pickup truck to a local gas station.  He left the keys in the vehicle as he refueled it. Some Street Pirates saw a "free truck" at their disposal and took advantage of the opportunity.

They jumped into the truck and peeled off.  The supervisor used his cellphone to call the police.  The police car that was dispatched just happened to drive past the pickup truck.  He turned around and gave chase.  After being pursued at a high rate of speed the Street Pirates lost control, left the road, through some mud and then smashed into a tree.   The VP told me that had the mud not slowed them down - they both would have been killed.

So let's summarize.

  • Black owned business
  • Struggling recently and thus had to lay off some of their employees until things pick back up
  • They, like several others experience the ASSAULT by Street Pirates who are intent on putting any operating business in arms reach of their "Pirates Lair" out of business per their larceny
I am actually surprised that no innovative trial attorney has not sued the company for putting these teens (16 and 13 IIRC) at risk by ENTRAPMENT - leaving the keys out to tempt them into action.

CF,

I think what has been more frustrating to me is the incredible amount of energy an individual has to spend just to have a meaningful discussion on serious issues like what you've posted here, the crisis in our schools, health and healthcare, etc. Without serious discussion, our chances of reaching workable solutions are dismal.

To go on a blog that is predominantly AA, and try to have a respectful dialogue has proven to be futile for me, because the rules to be respected only apply to them, but those who have a different pov are maligned, and the core problems are never addressed. It's discouraging....

To the "Democrat Who Is Black" I am a HARM to Black people because I "only" focus on the negative.

The truth is that if these Black owned businesses were being attacked by WHITE FOLKS - they would take the lead in the protests.

I have the AUDACITY to believe that BLACK PEOPLE ARE 100% EQUAL.

This two way street means that we have the same competencies but also we are as destructive - if not placed in check.

I pray those who can see faults in another race, will come to see themselves as equally competent, responsible and accountable.
