New Orleans Is Neither "Post Racial" Nor Is It Inclined To Punish The Incumbent Party

Observers say New Orleans not yet `post-racial'

When a cozy group of people are allowed to ask the questions - the "logical next question" never seems to be asked.

If you allow some people to tell it - the voting patterns of the Black Community are aligned with those who these voters know to have their "best interests in mind".  This all sounds reasonable and even understandable.  That is until you go probing to see if this is actually the case.

The eco-system within the city of New Orleans is arguably one environment that has done more damage to the consciousness of a large portion of its Black residents than any other place in this nation.   The economic and cultural results of having an unchallenged political machine who's policies are de jure are clear for anyone who cares to see.

We must understand that the claim that an entity has "the Black best interest in mind" is merely focused on their INTENTION and their alignment with what is POPULARLY ASSUMED to be the case.  Therefore if someone takes a hard line against such notions because, for example there are financial constraints they put him in the enemies column.  They should at least attempt to extract "social justice" out of the next higher rung of government.

The truth is that most "Democrats Who Are Black" would prefer to extend the "Black General Election" - the Democratic Primaryo over to the national General Election that takes place in November of the same year.  Locally in Atlanta there was a drive about 3 years ago for political unity, lead by the Black Establishment (Joseph Lowery).  He functionally called for all of his conservative opponents to drop their "foolish ways" and instead come and stand under the tent where he stood.  He apparently had the flag of righteousness holding up his tent.

There is an absence of language to adequately describe the conditions that are left in the "Aftermath of Hope".  The period when political victories are won over a given political district yet the benefits that were hoped for never materialize.  Instead the residual grievances are used as a building block to take over more districts horizontally and also to erect a vertical machine so that the next higher rungs of government are in line.  In as much as there is much complicity among ideological soul mates - that cross the domain of politics/print/performance/and protests - few of these fellow travelers are inclined to do any introspection or call into question the agreement to focus on the odd man who is out of power yet dares to speak against these favorable forces.  The fact that they are still speaking will be the focus of the establishment attack.  There will not likely be any measurement of the capacity of this enemy force to cause such destruction per allotted power.
