Keith Olbermann's "Janeane Garofalo Moment" Using Blacks As Stage Props

Recall at the kick off of the Tea Party Movement back in April of 2009 one Janeane Garofalo rhetorically asked "If this is NOT about protesting against a BLACK PRESIDENT - why weren't they protesting against BUSH's spending?  Hummmm?".  In her infinite wisdom she believed that she had a "Gotcha moment".

What she failed to note is that despite the USA still engaged in two wars the Progressive-Left - obviously feels that a "Black president who is Commander In Chief" leading the war effort cannot suffer the scrutiny of an ANTI-WAR MARCH.  Thus we have seen so few of them since he took office.

CHECKMATE for the "Snarling Fox" who dares to use Black people as her political pawn for her own agenda.

A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME.........................

It is easy to debunk Keith Olbermann's rhetoric just the same.   With the Tea Parties and/or the "Republican National Convention" the logic goes - "Since there are no so many Black folks there ...........IT MUST BE A RACIST ENVIRONMENT".   Then the next logical question for a leftist is asked:  "What must these right-wing movements do to attract Black folks and make them feel more comfortable".

Thus - the "right wing" is put on trail and asked to change.

What we need to do to upend this irrational thinking that poses as rational is to DISTILL THE ESSENCE of the movement.  Then we need to ask a new set of questions.

  • Is there evidence around the country that Black people feel that we are being overtaxed?  - Go look at the high rate of property tax adjustment requests (downward) made by Blacks
The truth is that most Black activists are on the "Demand Side" of the economy.  Recent protests held by Social Justice Rights group locally (in Metro-Atlanta) demanded that the "Fulton County Drug Court", for example be spared the budget ax as the county dealt with it's $54 million shortfall.  In this context - those who are less inclined to be outright property owners might be against tax relief for property owners.   Thus 'Supply Siders' are seen as against their interests.  In truth their own lack of economic productivity in which the places that their theories are expected to be the foundation of their own economic standard of living causes them injury if they don't have access to the redistributionist government policies.

In addition we need to go back and consider the time "When Racist Klaverns Of White Folks Gathered" - they left no doubt about how they felt about Black folks and didn't give a damn about disproving the claims against them made by people like Keith Olbermann.

If there was ever a time for some people to be forced to "know their history" it is the people who fail to see the violence that took place in the past.  They should feel cheapened by what they proclaim as an "environment of hatred" today.

We should all feel emboldened by the fact that our nation has advanced as proven by the fact that so many of the "low hanging fruit" of RACISM have been picked and consumed that the "Racism Chasers" now merely use claims of racism as POLITICAL points of OPPORTUNISM.

When the Keith Olbermann/Rachel Maddow's of the world begin to treat the murderous assaults by "Street Pirates" against the Black community in the same way that they treat a White man who terrorizes the Black community in kind - I will believe that they are no longer "White Liberal Snarling Foxes" who have contempt for the thought of the 100% equality of Black people, using us only as Poster Children in support of their own agenda.
