FBI takes new look at white men's killing of black teen in 1955
Hear me out on this one.
When I see such focus on "Cold Case Civil Rights Case" my position is not "do not do it!". I, for one, believe that a killer should be caught and punished until justice is rendered upon him.
When I see a representative like John Lewis take the lead in this issue, WHILE portions of his own district are one of the most deadly parts of the city - THIS is what pisses me off. The image that the murder by a White man from 55 years ago is more "deadly" to the Black community than the 10 "Warm Case Files" of last year is what I can't tolerate.
Ultimately there is some notion of ECONOMICS that must be discussed. Too often the emotions of the history of the Civil Rights Movement clouds our judgement regarding which course we should take when there is resource scarcity that prevents us from doing BOTH.
For me the ultimate tie breaker comes to light when I ask the question: "Of the two options - which of these killers has the proximity to the Black community to - KILL ANOTHER COMMUNITY MEMBER since he got away clean the first time?"
Let this be our guiding light.
“Take Back The Black Community Consciousness". It has been hijacked by embedded operatives who don't intend to develop the COMPETENCIES within. We once controlled this consciousness, focusing our activism directly upon our permanent interests. Today the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" has us as starters and some believe that this playing time translates into absolute progress for our people. My goal is to hold our permanent interests in their faces, forcing them to explain their actions.
