Clayton County GA Leaders Discuss The Violation Of The "Black Covenant" - The Loss Of Public Transporation

AJC: Clayton County leaders concerned about loss of C-Tran

Despite being on record as a frequent critic of the arrogance, incompetence and general state voter nullification in support of the establishment forces that exists in Clayton County Georgia - I too believe that this was a boneheaded decision made by the 100% Democrat county board.

A large number of the residents of the county migrated there with the assumption that despite their new residence being outside of Atlanta/Fulton/Dekalb - they had a transportation life-line to get to and from work. Clearly if this resource is taken away - these people will be cut off from their jobs.  They may have to return to the places where MARTA does serve them.

Please note - despite this stance I am also supportive of the decision by neighboring Fayette County to reject inclusion in the C-TRAN service.  They decided to maintain their stance as a "bedroom community" where the single family, unattached home is the standard by which they would build their county.  Obviously the emigrants out of Clayton County - the majority of them Black - agreed with the policy set forth by Fayette.  This DESPITE the fact that approximately 10 years ago the Black Establishment of Metro Atlanta called it RACIST!!

Fayette Responded:  "We welcome all people into Fayette County as long as they are willing to live in accordance with the standards of living that we have erected which has thus far allowed us to maintain a high quality of life for our residents.  Those needed to travel in and out of Fayette County in order to go to work should expect to have an automobile for transportation".  I should also note that there are many "VanShare" participants in the county that park their cars in a local retail parking lot and then vanpool into work.

I believe that some savvy individuals in Clayton should start a private bus service as "the Hispanics" have done along Burford Highway in Dekalb County.  They built a "Spanish speaking service" that caters to their needs.  It also receives advertising dollars that one might see on a public transportation vehicle.
