News Head Lines!!! The Nixon Campaign Tried To SPLIT THE BLACK VOTE......By Demandng A Black Candidate!!!

CNN: Document: Nixon campaign strategists considered racial strategy

Let me get this one straight because I know that you are not going to see this analyzed as such in any other outlet.

The Nixon Campaign sought to "divide Black folks" (and thus Democrats) by waging a campaign to get the Black community to demand a BLACK PERSON to participate on the Democratic ticket?

So get this.   The theory is that upon being turned away from participation on the ticket by the DEMOCRATS, the Republicans figured that BLACK FOLKS WON'T VOTE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION and thus the Republicans would win!!!!

Now I realize that once this story hits "Washington Week with Roland Martin", et al - the bottom line of the story will be "You see - Black folks need to look out for those who seek to make mischief with our loyalties, seeking to split us in the ultimate 'divide and conquer strategy'.  "

This is faulty analysis that only benefits those who receive the proceeds of our UNITY.  Unfortunately this hasn't been BLACK PEOPLE receiving this benefit.  The Democratic Party receives the lions share.

What should be more disturbing is that this is the same strategy used by the Black Establishment EXCEPT they don't have the plan for "Black folks to stay at home" or "vote for someone else" if the Democrats don't do as we demand that they do.   Why should the Nixon Campaign receive the indictment?  95% of this text is no doubt the same as what can be found in the filing cabinets of the NAACP, RainbowPUSH or Color Of Change. 

The real shame of this story is that the "Black vote" is so readily identifiable with one party and one ideology that it can be schemed upon as such.  I should not that the primary scheme to lose the Black vote is:

• Not to show that the incumbents are failing the Black community in their schools, economics or public safety
• Not to enumerate the list of promises made during the last election cycle and make note of how many have been broken
• Not to show how the initial struggle was to "throw the bums out" as they were violating our "permanent interests" only to see that the present establishment is doing no better yet their jobs are safe

INSTEAD the primary scheme by which to lose the Black vote is to make Black people have our hopes dashed regarding the placement OF ONE BLACK MAN on the ticket for the Democratic Party and failing that - they not show up to VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATS.

Who could have constructed a better set of terms..........to benefit the DEMOCRATS?
