No the title is not true.
One might be inclined to believe it though IF they exclusively consume their information about the world and the current events in Haiti from certain biased news sources - formal or informal. (television or blog).
The Haitian situation has caused me to heighten my observations of the news sources. I note the areas of focus between these forces. I notice the "knives" that are twisted in their domestic adversaries as the suffering Haitians prove to be good "footballs" for those who seek to use it as a proxy for their own agenda.
From these observations I have come up with a new label to describe the antics used by some:
"Self-Chumming To Feed The Sharks"
This describes the frequent use of straight out lies about how "the adversary" is covering Haiti for the express purposes of exploiting the pre-existing assumptions that their fellow travelers possess. Thus just as a deep sea fisherman cuts up squid and throws the "chum" overboard in order to start a feeding frenzy of the prized fish that he seeks to attract around his boat for capture - so is the case with the "Self-Chummer" who is fabricating stories.
Claim: Rush Limbaugh Told People Not To Donate To Haiti
I am challenged on what to do when confronted with such a situation. Per my recording of various media outlets I realize that the claim is a LIE. Yet if I refute the "Self-Chummer" then I will go down as a "vile Black man" because "I am defending Rush".
The truth is that I am sticking a wrench in the agenda of the "Self-Chummer". His goal is to feed those who, despite having their 'bigoted positions' formed are not going to go off and "see for themselves. This is because they risk having to alter their own world view. The enemy that is needed operate their racket that is based on loyalty might be de-clawed and de-fanged.
The truth is that Rush Limbaugh and other "conservatives" warned people that if they donate their Haitian relief funds to certain groups (whitehouse.gov and The United Nations) that those who they dislike will take credit for raising the money that THEY contributed. In addition to the "Red Cross" as a suggested alternative they pushed for more "conservative-friendly" donation coffers but pushed that contributions be made none the less.
As with the donations in Hurricane Katrina the proxy debate on RACE has clouded the assumptions of who is inclined to give versus who, per their RACISM - wouldn't give those "Suffering Black people" any money. I hope that the record donations sent back then and now can finally put to rest the game of the "suffering Negro" as a football for use in the fight between the Progressive and the Conservative.
Fox News Is Not Covering The Crisis In Haiti Sufficiently
As I waited during my son's dental appointment I watched the events in Haiti on the "Fox News Channel" which was on in the dentist's office. I pulled out my camera phone to record Fox's "non-coverage" of the events in Haiti. I am sure that Rupert Murdock and Roger Ailes commanded them to not "cover" the events in Haiti. {/sarcasm}
