I agree with the majority of the consciousness that I have heard on the program.
My problem with the entire setup is that the majority of the issues are focused upon the "American Political Domain". With Glenn Beck queuing up the issues in each segment the show functions as the "Black view" of popular POLITICAL issues in America being discussed. I am not saying that there is no room for this format because indeed there is. Instead I am not sure that people are aware of the ultimate limits of this strategy. In effect they are merely a counter voice to the Democrats' unchecked access to the media as they are represented as the 'voice of Black America'.
The conversations are about elements from the "Community Cultural Consciousness And Competence Domain" but ultimately the end game of most of the people who were featured resides in the "American Political Domain".
One only need look at the reactions to the show from the Black Progressive-Fundamentalists. While it is no surprise that they have contempt for their brothers and sisters having attended the Glenn Beck Show on Fox News, it is strange that thus far they have expressed more outrage than they have about our people attending a concert given by Snoop Dogg, Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne. The fact that the concert crowd is 100 times larger AND the people paid their hard earned money for the treat of hearing such ignorance escapes them.
The bottom line is, however, we are split as we take our positions in the "American Political Domain". We have put on the uniforms are are now active participants in the game that Malcolm X referred to years ago.
Neither "The Glen Beck Show" or "Washington Week with Roland Martin" are the proper forums to develop the architecture for the "Community Cultural Consciousness & Competence Domain".
