Whereas some people are bothered by the supposed over-representation of Black Conservatives on the news beyond their actual numbers within the Black Community the truth is that there is a far more ominous but unspoken fact about which Blacks do get on television.
The voices that are presented in this CNN Video (with the possible exception of Jeff Johnson) are Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chasers.
Note how they are allowed to work from the "inside outward", having constructed the machine that now controls all of the key institutions in our community. Now they are allowed to look upward toward the Obama Administration and render criticism.
Hold on folks! Why is it that these establishment operatives are allowed to make such an appraisal and not include themselves in the results that are felt WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY? It is clear from the dialogue that they (sans Jeff Johnson) are in full support of the policies that the Obama Administration has implemented domestically. They see their jobs as being advocates for Obama and thus these policies.
Al Sharpton tips his hand about his biggest fears: If the panel joins in upon the attacks on Obama then this merely emboldens the Republican opposition. Once again we see that the biggest fear is NOT that the policies that they support will be EFFECTIVE in addressing the issues within the Black community. Instead their fears are that the Conservative opposition might gain traction.
Notice how we are always reminded of how "horrible" George W Bush was but these same operatives say nothing about the local political machines that actually operate the Educational Institutions, the Police Departments and also influence the social contracts in the various cities where Black people lie in our highest concentrations. Once again the phenomenon of "Looking Past the Failures of Local Democrats and Attacking National Republicans" is on display. Does anyone believe that after 4 or 8 years of national Democratic control in this country our schools and other local institutions are still underperforming that these same operatives will agree to wage an indictment upon the machine that had a vertically aligned control from local up to the national government? Why isn't this never called "Sellout Behavior" against our Permanent Interests?
It is all too clear to see that the Black "rank and file" needs to take back our political consciousness from this overlay force that is the "Black Establishment". We have settled upon policies that are favorable to the prevailing set of Black people and we are on a permanent struggle, hoping that if we try hard enough they will rue the day. There is no force that is present which can fully vet these policies to insure that they are in fact EFFECTIVE and not just POPULAR.
We are not going to receive such an inspection from the establishment order because a departure from this strategy would be a departure from their own "DNA".
Thus, once again, the greater threat to the Black Community beyond "too many Black Conservatives" on Fox News is the projection of a body of policies that are in power within the Black community but have failed to live up to their promises and which don't receive adequate scrutiny due to the lack of architecture within the Black body politic to effect such a review.
(Actually the Black folks that perform on "Maury", "Divorce Court" and "Jerry Springer" are far worse of a threat but that's for another day - when I bring my video blogging functionality back on line).
