"The Great Debaters" The Threat To The Black College Professor 1935 vs 2009

Some of the ironies of the modern day will go missed absent a "framer" who can communicate the ironies embedded within.

About 2 years ago there was an award winning movie called "The Great Debaters". It focused upon a Black college professor at "Wiley College" circa 1935. He suffered through the latent racism of the nation at the time. His greatest fear in the movie involved his interactions with the WHITE RACIST law enforcement and the WHITE RACIST "lynch mob" - both of whom had their way with Black people. This particular movie was powerful because it communicated to the audience - Black and White - the travail of INJUSTICE and criminal intent that was suffered by the Black Victim.

Fast forward to December 2009 in Atlanta. A modern day college professor was ensnared in a Pirates lair. He too felt the same jarring terror that was placed upon Melvin B. Tolson of Wiley College.

Sadly while this film which brought to light the emotions felt by Tolson and his debate team won an award - the attempt to communicate the same terrorized state of Professor Jackson might get you labeled as a person who is seeking to portray all Blacks as criminals.
