We Must Scrutinize Their National Agenda By Looking At Their Local Track Record

Big-city schools struggle with graduation rates

CHICAGO HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATE 52.2%

I have learned that it does me no good to get mad at which I am seeing. In fact - I don't even blame Arnie Duncan (or Barack Obama or the Machine that they both are attached to) for doing what they are doing.

They have a job. Their job is to gain power and to keep it.

The more Black people that they can get to "live vicariously" through they machine's success - the better.

I can't get mad at the unchecked romp through our community that I have witnessed.
The ONLY thing I can do is to aggregate the facts into my own little space on the web and hope that those who are interested in understanding better why - despite their POLITICAL victories their own COMMUNITY victories have been far less enduring.

DOES THIS MAN HAVE ANY CREDIBILITY WITH HIS GOAL?

I am actually going to change my emphasis and ask "WHO'S students does Arnie Duncan have in mind when he and Obama set out the goal of returning the United States to the world's top spot in COLLEGE graduation?"

Is it not fair for me to evaluate the veracity of this goal based upon the results of his policies while at the helm of the Chicago Public Schools? This chart has it listed as the 3rd largest school system in America. If he pulled a 52.2% rate in this system - what is he going to do to take the United States to the top? Magic! ?!

Let's use the data that has been introduced above to ask a serious questions:

  1. Who's children does Barack Obama and Arnie Duncan plan to make primary use of to bring them over the top?
  2. What about the Chicago machine's educational performance record for minority children give you confidence that they will be included in the body of "equal human beings" helping America to the top in COLLEGE graduation rates at the NATIONAL level when at the local level they have barely managed to get 50% of these same students to even graduate high school?
  3. Same question but this time for all school systems around the nation with a high rate of minority students run by this same machine?
THE ACTUAL SOLUTION

I choose to maintain consistency with my beliefs and say that neither Arnie Duncan nor Barack Obama will ultimately be the answer to solve these problems that are mostly local in nature. I believe that we have a HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PROBLEM in our community. There are too many misaligned theories, practices and incompetencies allowed to flourish for the sake of ideological favoritism.

These goals need to become our community's goals. Our community, after focusing upon these goals as the priority need to adopt a sufficiently comprehensive strategy to achieve these goals. Within this movement there must be a choice made. A choice to stop outsourcing our expectations about a political process that has ultimately not delivered upon our interests as we had anticipated it would as we provided it with our loyalties. What other evidence is needed to back my position? In truth - the present advocates are the ones who need to be "put on trial", being forced to ask - Why is it that so many of our PERMANENT INTERESTS have been violated upon us following where you have lead us to?
