Obama's School Broadcast - Lay Off The President This Is A Resonable Presidential Action

I think people are being a bit extreme as they assume the worst case intentions of Barack Obama video sent to our public school children.

The President Of the United States has a reasonable duty to provide broad guidance to our young people. As long as President Obama does not bring any hot button political issues into the message - I support this effort.

With the multitude of violent and perverted messages streamed to our children on a constant basis I believe that it is a bit cynical to attack this effort to motivate our children to do the right thing as some nefarious scheme.

In the bigger picture I believe that we as a country are engaging in excessive lateral fights all the while being aloof to the macro level threats that are fomenting around us.

These kids sitting in these seats in school will be the ones who are in the labor pool as:
  • The National Debt Hits $21,000 Billion in 2019
  • The Medicare System Goes In The Red in 2020
  • The Social Security System Becomes Insolvent In 2035
If anything President Obama and those who follow him are going to have to focus their message to Americans that our previous decisions have brought us into the mess that they now find themselves in. They are going to need to remain focused upon the basics, limiting their expectations from the government in line with the harsh realities that they now face.

I mentioned before the message from the "Fiscal Wake Up Tour" which told the audience that the next president of the United States is going to have to tell all Americans that they are going to have to expect a degraded standard of living as government spending is lowered and taxes are raised to pay for the unsustainable debt.

If Barack Obama did a daily YouTube stream to hammer home the real threat to us - I would support this and all other politicians that did the same.

The thing that set people off was the lesson plan that told kids to write a letter saying what they would do "for the President". Not for the country or the community. For the President.

They've pledged to release the speech text a day ahead of time, which should diffuse most all of this (unless he is stupid enough to STILL want to inject a bunch of socialism into the speech). The problem is that even if I don't think that the President is a fascist, he sure seems to surround himself with people who have strong fascist instincts.
