You have to give certain operatives credit.
They get in front of an issue and frame it in such a way that the real issues and the grand failure of their own ideological assumptions and strategies are never fully investigated.
As Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the man who brought the version of Christianity that he practices upon the consciousness of President Barack Obama, sees it - the entire health care debate can be whittled down into two simple sides:
- Those who have compassion for "The Least Of These" and thus when they see a need - they change the constructs of the societal wealth resource distribution to 'HELP' those in need. Thus they should their higher plain of consciousness and empathy for others
- Those who are bound by their bigotry and hatred and thus when they see "THOSE PEOPLE" in need they walk on the other side of the street, failing to administer help for those who are in desperate need
The Serial Feeders Of The Least Of These
In my opinion Rev Wright stands firming in the branch of Christians who pervert the notions of the commandments of God. They pull out references to "Jesus said feed the poor" and make use of these as the supreme Christian commandments. I am all for this as long as it is done in the name of "Christian Charity" AND as long as the second principle - which I believe is superior to this first is not violated.
The God that I worship told us that he made man in his own image. This implicitly defines some specific assumptions that we as Christians should project upon others:
- They are equal
- They have equal rights that should be afforded to them
- They are equally competent
- They are equally capable of assuming responsibility
I have mentioned several times before on this blog that I don't evaluate churches based upon their willingness to gather together the choir on a Saturday and march into a destroyed inner city neighborhood with brooms, trashbags, shovels and pick up tracks to haul the refuse away.
This same church should be judged on:
- How many of the actual neighbors who made the mess that is to be cleaned up do they ask to join in on the festivities for the direct benefit of their OWN COMMUNITY?
- How many trashbags, brooms and shovels are left behind by the church so that they won't have to come back next month to rinse and repeat?
- Most importantly - What type of RESOURCE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION did this church extend to the people that they "fed" so that one day they can stop the church members at the edge of their community and tell them: "Go to your home, return your brooms and then YOU come empty handed to our communities where you will be our honored and EQUAL GUESTS - enjoying the clean, safe and prosperous community that you planted the seed of consciousness for us to maintain THE STANDARDS THAT YOU SHOWED US".
Sadly the perverted Christianity that is increasingly practiced today:
- Believes that Private Property Taken Via Taxation and then provided to address "Moral Initiatives" is an example of CHRISTIAN CHARITY and that all Christians should support such an effort (such as the public option for health care)
- They seek to have their God look upon the long line at the soup kitchen full of people that they will feed and then look up to their God with the belief that he is smiling down upon these efforts of 'Serial Feeding'.
My God would be displeased that I had a hand in stultifying those who HE CREATED IN HIS OWN IMAGE.
- His people need food on a daily basis and thus he provided us with plants and animals to consume
- His people need to be civilized under some framework of law and order - thus we have received Commandments upon which our Judeo-Christian order was based upon and which has survived through the ages as testament to their truth
- His people need education, jobs for their livelihood and professional services like medical, health care and legal guidance. Thus he made the human being so that when he exited the womb - he would be a DEPENDENT UPON HIS MOTHER AND FATHER AND COMMUNITY. The thought was that these "fully yoked" adults who interact with this dependent child, who themselves are walking in the solemn footsteps of their God would be fully qualified teachers and stewards of this child - transforming him from a DEPENDENT into the form that MY GOD has told us he made us in: IN HIS OWN FORM
Thus when I listen to Rev Wright and other operatives who wish to frame this argument on the basis of the RACIST motivations of the opponents of Government Centered Health Care Reform - I am made to wonder:
Which has cast the greater assault upon our people's CULTURAL CONSCIOUSNESS AND CONFIDENCE:
- Those who reside OUTSIDE of our communities and oppose having the government to transfer their private property out of their communities into others as this process is called "charity"
- Those who RUN OUR COMMUNITIES yet, despite their ability to articulate the NEEDS IN OUR COMMUNITIES - they have been unable to field a "God Fearing" system of HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT that addresses the latent needs in our communities by aligning the EDUCATIONAL, FINANCIAL , LAW & ORDER, and CULTURAL resources within our communities to the point where we are positioned to grow organically as a people because "We are the one's we've be awaiting for" - No wait
With such a consciousness in mind our cultural bias will shift from "live and let live"/ "Do it if it feels good to you" over to "Since your lack of focus is a threat to our community achieving its ultimate goals you must adopt more consciousness and find your place where we need your brainpower to help the community to progress.
When this state of consciousness happens the Court System and the formal government will take a back seat to the culturally influenced consciousness that will allow the people to walk by faith.
The evidence of our blindness today is the sight of SouthWest Atlanta Hospital. The building is still intact but a trashbag covers the sign because there are no Health Care Services being rendered to the surrounding Black Community.
Our great leaders who taught us about our RIGHTS
Never had us to appreciate the VALUE of aligning the resources that we control to enable these needed services to be delivered in a "FUBU" manner.

Here Rests The "SouthWest Atlanta Hospital. About 4 years ago there was great fanfare as the first hospital to be OWNED by a group of AFRICAN-AMERICAN PHYSICIANS was rescued from the brink of collapse. Everybody was was anybody in the Atlanta political scene showed up to be a part of the self-congratulatory photo-opThus we are now looking to the federal government, dutifully calling it "OUR RIGHT" to be provided that which we have failed upon - WHEN WE WERE LEFT ALL ALONE.

Fear Not - At Least the County Government Offices remain open on these grounds. This is funded by outside sources:
