I realize that some of the BQPFRCs who hate Fox News will first have to be shown that this is indeed the real mayor of Patternson NJ. They are more inclined to be pissed at News Corp than they are to question the actions of yet another local Democratic Machine (the first being Washington DC with its 100% Community road block in the Trinidad section of the city and then in Philly with its 'Stop and Frisk' policy to search for guns).
Patternson New Jersey proposes to adopt an adult curfew as a means of regulating the behavior of everyone in this beautiful and safe city.
Sundown Towns
If you debate certain Black folks long enough you will no doubt hear about the term "Sundown Town". These were racist towns who had a policy that Black folks needed to "get to stepp'in" at a certain time in the evening lest they get arrested. It seems that they figured that Black folks turn mischievous at night. And since at the time they did not have a police helicopter with a FLIR camera to see the heat radiating from the body of the Black man they sought to keep an eye on - the best choice was for the White community was to tell the Blacks to clear the decks by sundown.
Sadly the best way to convince a good portion of the Black community to do something that is NOT in their best interests is to allow an operative to take to the stage and tell the masses that the Republican Party wants them to do the opposite of what the operative wants the masses to do. For example if the goal is for an "Adult Curfew" to be supported then the best way to gain popular support is to tell the people "The GOP believes that you should stand on the streets at night. In truth they know that those who stand on the street at night are also more likely to get run over by a drunk driver. Thus the GOP is attempting to KILL YOU!".
Something might happen to this mayor who proposes this policy. One thing that it won't be is that he is put out of office as a consequence of this policy.
