Little Rock 9 Member : Racism, Murder and Rape - Is Still Alive

‘Little Rock 9’ member tells teens racism is alive

I can't help but to be cynical such a message as this one.
If she finds a period in which one racial group does not tend to favor their own racial group then she will point to a period where there is no race to speak of.

Still beyond race even Black people, White and Hispanic can factionalize, turning into violent gangs and kill each other at a pace far greater than that which was the case regarding interracial conflict.

Racism Chasing is getting tired. In my mind is an essay that will recast my view on racism. Today the claim has been turned into a political weapon as a means of intimidating those who are cutting too close with their criticisms. As with other conspiracy theories - when the label thrower can't quite conclude while another person doesn't agree with what seems so settled in their own mind it must be that this opponent is motivated by some other prevailing force. They must be a RACIST!!!

Central High School 54 Years Later

Today - Central High School in Little Rock AR, the same school that our people fought and got bloodied to get into is today just another mediocre or failed, Black majority high school in an urban area. According to Great Schools.net Central High School is a 3 out of 10 rated school. Clearly "racism" is not THE problem with Central High School today.

We as a people place far more stock in our past "struggles" than we put forth EFFECTIVE management strategies that will allow us to maintain the integrity of that which we have "won". I have noticed a tactic in which by telling our children how hard our ancestors fought to gain access to a resource, like Central High, that this is supposed to motivate them to "achieve". The same type of sentiment is expressed upon referencing the victory of Barack Obama in the presidential election. This "magical gravitational pull via induction" is supposed to shame our children into doing their best. I can't agree with this.

Our young people will only do their best when someone defines their purpose in life and tell them how their applied intelligence will be needed to move the ball forward for the FUTURE. The past is DEAD along with most people who are stuck in it - regardless of the status of their heart beat.

None of these students at Central High today will be made proficient in Geometry or Algebra based upon knowing that "people who look like them" were not allowed to set foot into the school halls - the halls that today's student may throw their trash upon?
