A Carefully Sculpted But Ultimately Dishonest Debate About Illegal Immigration

I should have not been surprised that when I saw a PBS correspondent associated with Bill Moyers and the "Now" program that the debate would be framed in such a way that made the progressive viewpoint the most honorable and correct pathway. This is exactly what host Maria Hinojosa did when she interviewed a representative from the "Council of La Raza".

The problem was less with what they said but instead it was what they did not address because it would expose their agenda.

In summary their over all goal is to increase the population of Hispanics in this nation. If your focus is upon "The Race" then logically you'd prefer the maximum amount of "your people" to live in a prosperous nation rather than their home nation where struggle and misery abound. I think this is fundamental to the argument and understanding. They don't care about a strict interpretation of the US laws and having them enforced.

In effect they are running out the clock.

First COLR opposes the border fence as it might slow down easy access to this nation. They say that it is offensive and RACIST for this nation to erect such a fence. It shows that some people are undesirables.
An illegal alien who remains undetected in the United States and then has a child has children who are considered American has made it past an important checkpoint. If, however, the US Immigration authorities find the illegal parents and queue them up for rightful deportation - La Raza will raise a protest about how the brutal US government is "splitting up families" - families that have AMERICAN CITIZENS within it. They call this unjust.

To top it off - anyone who recognizes their agenda and calls them on it is called A RACIST!!!!!

So get this - Despite the fact that their game plan is quite clear - anyone who notices what they are doing and does anything to affirmatively get them to obey the IMMIGRATION LAW is called a "Hater Of Hispanics".

Maria Hinojosa reminded the audience that crossing the border without any documentation is only a MISDEMEANOR, not a felony. This point is ultimately irrelevant in my view. It speaks nothing of their intent to enter into and stay in this nation, shunning our immigration process all the while.

They prefer a "comprehensive immigration policy reform". I don't know about you but I notice that with Health Care we need a "comprehensive set of reforms" just as well. It just seems to me that "comprehensive" always means moving one step closer to what the "Progressive" sees as favorable and other people dropping their "bigoted" position - per the view of the Progressive.

This entire issue must be added to the matrix of challenges that make a long term bet upon the fiscal viability of this nation an unsure thing. No I am not saying that the "Hispanics are going to bring down this nation". They'd love me to say this and in fact my words might even been molested into saying this. The fact is that with the progressive agenda of shifting even more entitlement upon the central government, a government that is already $11,500 billion in the hole and growing fast - some massive correction is indeed in our future. In fact if there is no massive correction then the entire economic system of the USA which is based on fiat currency is a Ponzi scheme who's outcomes have nothing to do with its actual valuation.

I keep hearing people talking about the future benefit of the Democratic Party and of Progressivism in general as the Hispanic Population increases in America. I am dumbfounded as to how this point can be made. Clearly this is a person who is only focusing upon the strength of their party and their ideology but NOT the attainment of the underlying PERMANENT INTERESTS that they purport to be striving for with their political activism.

If progressives translated into quality education then California would lead the nation. Instead the harsh financial realities of this state recently had them to make drastic cuts to education. Ditto this for social services, and economic development per job creation in general.

The advantage that the Progressive has is that he will never be pigeonholed as a "hater". A hater, in effect, is someone who seeks to hold the line, realizing that a boat that is engineered for a certain capacity will likely capsize if "empathy" gone awry causes them to overload the system. Their point of empathy is seen at the sight of them helping the next victim out of the water. As a conservative - MY point of empathy is to read the engineering manual of the boat and work hard to save the lives of the people in the boat from the DROWNING that they will suffer when the boat starts splitting at the seams.

It is my view that the real hatred is within the people who promote their own self provincial self interests as they hate the rules and limits of the whole, causing the entirety of the system to collapse.

It is my belief that PROGRESSIVISM IS NOT ORGANIC!!!
Progressivism is by definition an EXPANSIONARY, "struggle themed" milieu.
Just as the Wall Street Trader's greed did not abate until he caused the system to collapse - so is the case with the Progressive.
