"Atlantans Building Leadership For Empowerment"
Progressives: Please listen closely to this man.
Do you hear the LOGIC of his argument? This is what I suffer from you all of the time.
He makes a CIRCULAR ARGUMENT.
His justification for us not worrying about the expected cost of this incremental nationalization of health care says "Well the haters also said that the stimulus package was too COSTLY. We now see that this was not the case. Look at the jobs that have been created".
I will not tear down this specious argument. I know that many of you don't even believe that one. Only a fraction of the Stimulus has even been spent yet.
I assure you though that this good reverend will not have to initially pay the higher taxes necessary to pay down this new debt nor is he concerned about the Treasury notes created and sold to foreigners to finance all of this. He is ONLY interested with "Being In Receipt Of BENEFIT". Let the "smart people" worry about the financing.
EMPOWERMENT OR DEPENDENCY?
The name of the doing the protest is timely.
This is because I just finished up a debate with one of my friends over the issue of the NAMING of a school after Barack Obama. My friend was pissed that a White woman who didn't live in the city had a problem with the schools' decision while Obama is in office. I agreed with him that this is no business of the lady. The people who have a vote and who are accountable for the resources in their community ulimately have a right to do as they please. Their belief is that with such a name the kids will be inspired to achieve.
I followed up, however, with the statement that "It is my right to TEST THIS HYPOTHESIS by looking at the results". I told my friend about how politicians in Atlanta decided to take down the street signs that honored Civil War generals and replace them with the people's own heroes. Sadly in this part of Atlanta the intersection of 'Joseph E. Lowery Blvd and "Joseph P. Boone Dr" is noted as the "most deadly block in Atlanta". Thus, it is my right to make the obsevation that the "magical gravitational pull" of creating a happy environment via the name change failed and some more hands on management is necssary.
THIS brings me back to the name of this group of protesters for "Multiple taxpayer paid health care"
Atlantans Building Leadership For Empowerment. Once again I will defend their right to go to the Georgia Secretary of States office and fill out a 501c3 form to become a charitable organization with any name.
I reserve my right to evaluate the EMPOWERMENT claims of this group.
I see no EMPOWERMENT from this group.
They instead are demanding that their RIGHT to health care services be made as a birth right based upon their membership as a citizen in America. They seek other tax payers to VALIDATE their worth as a citizen and a human being via the expression of their own tax dollars send to these people.
Can someone articulate where this "empowerment" is?
This is the construction fo DEPENDENCY.
I struggle as I being to ask my critics about their knowledge of "Cultural Evolution". They are quick to tell us how our culture was stolen. I am not so sure that they are the most appropriate people to reconstruct a culture. They are too grievance based and thus they have a tendency to reconstruct a culture of entitlement. They confuse the knowledge that various African tribes indeed practiced communalism (not communism). They pervert this concept as they figure to use the agency of the government to force this distribution.
When I think about "communalism" I imagine the need for embeded service providers inside of the circle who deliver the needed services to the people inside of this band. In as much as this group did not have a certain proficiency - they were immobilized as a result. Their choice was to either do without, possibly perishing or to develop this competency within.
- Do you hear of any plans to craft more MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS out of the ranks of the Black community from these groups?
- Do you hear of any plans to channel the FINANCIAL RESOURCES from the Black community - away from liesure and toward the more critical shared needs that we have? I hear tax abatement from their backs as the wealthy on the outside are made to pay for the services they receive
If "Tax Cuts For The Rich" was an evil thing, what are "Increased Free Entitlements For The Masses Without Them having to build up any competencies to deliver it to themselves"?
If there is one thing that I wish my people would become better attuned to it is upon the notion that " THERE IS A 'COST' ASSOCIATED WITH EVERYTHING".
Those costs that you might avoid out of your wallet may instead be recognized as being drawn away from your "Cultural Compentencies".
Stop falling for "names" and instead inspect the function.
Stop assuming that what feels most comfortable to YOU in the way of policy is in fact the best way to go. Instead develop a framework of what your goals are and measure these policies against this framing.
For a nation that is already $12,100 billion in debt and who's Treasury Department has already warned us about Medicare come 2020 and Social Security come 2035 - it is stunning that the blind leadership of these masses has them focused upon the "Union labor contract signing victory RIGHT NOW" instead of the "bridge is out" condition that they were told about.
At that point in the future their level of dependency will have them less able than ever to do anything that is organically in their own interests.
