Does everyone see the played out Lincoln Continental with the flip up headlight covers?
This is how PLAYED OUT AND TIRED State Senator Tyrone Brooks is!!!
He needs to be retired to a pile of old cars in the junkyard just the same.
This entire reenactment of the Moores Ford Bridge Lynching in which 4 Black people (one of them pregnant at the time) is the story of where the present Civil Rights Movement is today.
Absent someone stepping in and providing context to these entire set of events as plotted to where we are as a people and what threatens us today - this reenactment will continue another 40 years.
Tyrone Brooks is a Democratic State Senator in the Georgia Legislature. Do you notice that so many of the assault and murder stories that I present on this blog are centered in Southwest Atlanta? Well this makes up a portion of Tyrone Brooks' district. (US Rep John Lewis as well).
If someone did not come in and make note that while Senator Brooks is dogged about finding the White folks who killed these 4 Black people 63 years ago........he is quite silent about the "Warm Case Murders" that have been taking place in his district over the past several years.
Let me say very clearly - I AM NOT SEEKING TO DIVERT ATTENTION away from these lynchings. All who have murdered anyone in this manner should be put to death!
I am forced to see these antics done by Senator Brooks and the rest of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials as one of diversion from the key issues of today!! They realize the emotional tie that Black people have to the Civil Rights Era. They are office holders, presiding over the murder that is taking place within their own districts today. What better way to escape accountability for the conditions that have been rendered than to get the Black community to focus upon the long ago past?
There is not one ounce of belief within me that makes me think that Tyrone Brooks actually believes that someone will be brought to trial over this horrendous murder. If they were 20 years old back in the day these men are now 83 years old.
Let me also be clear - I will fight for the right of Tyrone Brooks to choose to assemble where he pleases to express his right to free speech. If he sought to have a daily reenactment of this event I would support his right to do so.
However I refuse to be silent as a make note of the context of our present circumstances that has Senator Brooks and other operatives to view the death of these Black people at the hands of White people done 63 years ago as a SUPERIOR threat than the one that exists today in Southwest Atlanta and other places.
If there is to be any push back - it needs to come from the constituents who voted for Brooks to represent their interests. In as much as the area of today has a petri dish of civil rights violations upon Black people BY other Black people - Senator Brooks' focus on this event from 63 years ago seems rather perverse.
He should be let free from his official position so that he can spend more time in his played out Lincoln Continental. Allow him to turn on his flip up head light covers so that he can see better as he seeks out these 83+ year old killers where ever they might be today. (Likely dead and gone).

The antics used by State Senator Tyrone Brooks are as tired as this 1946 Cadillac. Only the voters who are tired of being diverted by this focus upon the past while the present issues remain unresolved can do something to rebuke these attempts to draw upon their sentiments.
