Environmental Thugism Walking Tour Part II

I watched a report about the shooting last night of a young Black man in south Fulton Count on a different television station and I then realized that I should have reported on this from a different angle. Please accept this post as a supplement to the last past.

For this report to have its maximum effect it is important that we frame this narrative appropriately. I would like to take you away from the level of acceptance that we presently have as this being "yet another victim of the present 'urban gun violence' that is going on today within Black America.

Let's move away from that framing.
Let's not focus on the assailant that has done this violent act as a means of "showing this Black man" that he had better show more respect next time.

Instead let's imaging that 60 years ago this young Black male on camera who is giving a report about how his friend was gunned down after he had warned him 'how dangerous it is out there' for a Black man like him. Can we agree there there was no doubt a lot of people who gave such an account to someone right after their good friend was shot down like a dog? They did not have the pervasiveness of today's media broadcast technology that allowed this young man's words to spread so far away from the scene and into your consciousness.

Thus I have slightly altered the actual text of Yarvel Hughley's words, changing them to be in line with what was likely heard for decades after slavery ended from Black people who were the witnesses to the TERRORISM that is running rampant with in their community.
"Just be careful out there. You know these (White folks) don't like you (and other Black folks)"

"I guess those (White folks) came through and they shot him. (They wanted to make sure that he stayed in his place)"

"The shot him three times in the back"

Keep in mind one thing: MY MESSAGE IS NOT ABOUT THESE TWO BOYS - the one who was shot and Yarvel Hughley who had his friend get shot.

THIS MESSAGE IS ABOUT YOU!!!!!

How many times in the past have we as Black people pondered what we'd do if we were living during the times that would later come to be known as the "Civil Rights Era"? After having witnessed a sustained series of attacks upon Black people in your community - you have become "Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired". So many of us say what we WOULD HAVE been doing: Joining in on marches. Doing sit ins. Getting locked up in jail. All of this as a demand for Justice and to have the violence that is being set upon our people to STOP.

LET ME ASK YOU - Since the OUTCOMES are so much the same as they were in the past - a Dead Black Man or a Black Man Shot In The Back - What is the difference between back then and now?

Clearly the only key difference is that the ASSAILANT IS BLACK!!!

What worked so well when the antagonist was an EXTERNAL THREAT is now rendered thoroughly impotent.

Where as before one could demand justice and that the assailant be "locked up and have the key thrown away" - things are a bit more complex.

This is not an effective strategy because they'd be locking UP "Yet another Black man". This violates your "Yet Another Negro In Jail" upper bound.

Do you see the strategic flaw of having THE WHITE KILLER'S MURDER OF A BLACK MAN seen as SUPERIOR to the murderous act by a Black man - when a BLACK MAN IS HIS VICTIM in both cases?
