Barber's Statement About The College Park Murders: Fox News Must Be Put In Check

This is the video that was shown on the local "Fox 5 Atlanta" affiliate as I was getting a hair cut yesterday.

About 10 minutes prior to this video I had asked the guy who was cutting my hair about the murders that had taken place about 6 miles up the street in College Park from where we were sitting. He said that it was outrageous that some one would shoot two sisters in the head like that and think nothing of it. He then stated "They both were found naked". I had not heard that new piece of news. I had read about it that morning and then made a blog post when I read about it. I did not watch the noontime news for any additional updates.

Then minutes later the 5pm news on "Fox 5 Atlanta" showed the video that is posted above. After the segment was over the barber that was on the other side of the shop said "That Fox News needs to be put in check. They went to far. They don't need to be showing all of that".

My barber and I were puzzled with the statement. My barber asked "What do you mean? Are you saying that Fox didn't need to make it known that the women were found naked?" He said "Yeah".

I knew that this is not what he was talking about. He heard the name "Fox" and attributed this to the "Sean Hannity", "Bill O'Reilly" Fox News. I then chimed in and said "This is not the same Fox News that you are thinking of. This is a local station with few ties to the cable network. I watch these reporters and they call it straight, especially that sister there". (Lisa Rayham was on the screen at the time).

The guy who was cutting my hair had previously condemned THE KILLERS of these two Black women.

The other barber who registered offense over Fox News seemingly had more problem with "Fox News" than any condemnation expressed about the killers of these two Black females.

I normally record the local CBS news affiliate as well. I was going to post their video coverage of this same murder to see if they presented the information about the state in which the bodies were found. Unfortunately "Not Me" changed the channel from that news broadcast and thus I did not get the video. ("Not Me" is one of my two kids.)

I marvel at how some of our people think and how they allow their ideological bigotry to misplace their anger toward the wrong target.
