Anti-Violence Rally In Trenton In The Wake Of A Gang Slaying Of Little Girl

Black Panther at heart of girl’s slaying hosts city march

I am happy that Allah is holding a peace rally. My main problem with him is that he has opened his hands too widely to the gang bangers but has failed to ask OF THEM in a significant way so that they might change their violent ways.

Too often those who have the most pull within our community are so anxious to set up a partnership with the Thugs who are terrorizing us that they don't "lay down the law" for them to rise up to. (I think it has a lot to do with an absent father in the house).

Their typical tactics it to have the Thugs join them in a fight against an EXTERNAL ADVERSARY. They figure that as long as both are focused on a common external force, the Thug wills top cutting throats inside of his own community. The problem with this strategy is that at some point the adversary will have moved too far away from the community to serve as a worthwhile scape goat and the people will turn on each other because the leaders failed to construct any internal scaffolding by which to MANAGE the community by.

TRENTON — The Black Panther who organized the June 7 block party that ended with the drive-by slaying of 13-year-old Tamrah Leonard is holding an anti-violence city tour today that begins at the very site where suspected gangsters murdered the innocent schoolgirl.

New Black Panther Party leader Divine Allah, campaigning for the North Ward City Council seat, is hosting today’s “500 Strong Trenton” at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Rossell Avenue at noon, a month after Tamrah was shot dead at that location and three days after what would’ve been her 14th birthday.

Divine Allah told The Trentonian he’s holding the event to send a “stop the violence” message, saying nothing can stop him from taking activist action.

He called Tamrah’s murder “unfortunate” but added, “I would be doing this if that situation wouldn’t have happened, and I’m gonna continue to do it.”

Gang violence is a tragic way of life in many cities. If you want to help reduce gang violence, support the Youth PROMISE act (http://bit.ly/Y085M) and recruit your friends. This legislation is poised to make a big difference for at-risk youth in communities that are troubled with gang violence.

With all due respect:

I don't believe that it is LEGISLATION that is going address a problem that does not stem from the POLITICAL domain.

I bet that none of these young Pirates who had no respect for their community or this little girl's life had a father or a positive male influence in their lives.

I AM NOT IN A FIGHT TO SUPPORT LEGISLATION!!!

My battle is one over the PREVAILING BLACK CULTURE. There are too many Negroes who are protective of this dysfunction because in their 'ideological bigotry' they cleave to what they are most comfortable with rather than what is needed at this point in time to restrict and redirect the BEHAVIOR of everyone living within.
