BLACK Political Racialism - The Permissible Form Of Discrimination By Race

he's running in a district that was created to elect an African-American

AP: White US Rep. in black Tenn. district faces fight

A few days ago on another blog the question of if the southern state of Alabama is "ready" to elect a Black man as their governor. As expected the presumption was that RACISM is still abundant in this southern state and thus it was not likely to happen.

In a federal lawsuit stemming from the new political districts drawn by the Texas Utilities Commission on newly developed land that was not populated during the old days of racial segregation a Black person argued that these districts and others in the south are still RACIST.......as proven by the fact that few of them VOTED FOR BARACK OBAMA - the Black guy. Thus I argued that - White folks PROVE that they are not racist by voting for a Black guy.

Now it just so happens that as these White folks seek to PROVE their absence of racism.....they also advance the political agenda of the BQPFRC, but hey, at least this is progress right?

BLACK POLITICAL RACIALISM - THE PERMISSIBLE FORM OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION

During the 2008 Presidential election I pointed out how so many otherwise respectable news organizations asked the question "Will WHITE PEOPLE put aside their racist views and vote for a Black person?".

I believe that this is a fair question since a Black candidate as a finalist was a major exception to the norm. I was puzzled, however, that I heard none of these same press agents express any "Intellectual Curiosity". If White people are expected to let go of their racialist sentiments and vote with an open mind in respect to their BEST INTERESTS.......what of the Black voter?

I reported on a post election analysis of the progressive hack site, Huffington Post in which they plotted the numbers by state in regards to Obama support. They concluded that there was an unexplainable aversion to voting for Obama, the Black guy, that could not be explained away by basic partisan perference. Indeed RACISM was the hidden hand. I noted at that time that the 96% Black voter support across the board in EVERY STATE OF THE UNION did not prompt any inspection about these same sentiments in Black people.

What about the BLACK VOTER makes us assumed to be Democrats and loyal to "the Black guy"? Why is it that the White voter is given full dimension but the Black voter is predefined?

Many attempt to argue this in terms of VOTER'S BEST INTERESTS. This is fine but it does not stand. There has never been a time where more Black institutions are controlled by the Democrats - without exception. Again proving the lack of "intellectual curiocity", no one dares to map the current set of grievances about the schools, safety and economic conditions to this present leadership. Instead, it seems, that the line of thinking is that the "one new crumb" that this establishment brings to these communities is "one more crumb" that they didn't have before. Thus the low expectations from this leadership is codified.

MEMPHIS

Memphis Tennessee is yet another dysfunctional urban metropolis. Violent crime and the highest infant mortality rate for Black children is what comes to mind based on my references from the news of recent years. The last time I passed through town there was talk about a city curfew to prevent youth crime and a school system that was loaded with problems in their quest to educate its majority Black population. (Either they had lost their superintendent to the city of Boston or they had received a new one from Boston. I don't recall) There is also a string of political corruption cases from the ruling machine of the city. The Demcoratic Party holds the dominate hand in this place.

Cohen, 60, is one of just two white members of Congress representing predominantly black districts and the only one to follow an African-American into office. He is the first white congressman from Memphis since 1974 and the only Jewish member of Tennessee's congressional delegation.

Voters in the August 2010 Democratic primary will face a sensitive question that has dogged Cohen since his first House election in 2006: Should Tennessee's only majority black district have a black representative in Washington?

"I think all along, Steve Cohen has known that's his vulnerability," said political scientist Marcus Pohlmann at Rhodes College of Memphis. "It's not so much that he's disliked because he's white, but he's running in a district that was created to elect an African-American."

In the 9th District, which is 60 percent black and 35 percent white, the Democratic primary is tantamount to election. No Republican has been elected since 1972.

For a people who have our eye out for race based policies that tend to channel people into a certain corner - we sure seem to do our fair share of the same.

I am an OPPONENT to Black Majority Gerrymandered Voting Districts. IRONICALLY they work AGAINST the Best Interests Of Black people. I DO NOT believe that a "Black elected official" BY DEFINITION means that "the Black best interests" will be represented.

Instead the functional result is that the people who possess the POPULARLY ASSUMED Policies that purport to represent the Black Best Interests are the kept in place with little challenge. I am of the belief that this BODY OF THOUGHT needs to be put on trial. IF this stands up to the evidence then those of this position have nothing to worry about with an inspection. This is the "transparent' thing to do. For a people seeking our "best interests" rather than being in pursuit of a particular ideology or party this should not be troubling.

I am opposed to Black Majority Gerrymandered Voting Districts because they work to insure that left wing Black representatives are put into office. A more integrated district would force more MODERATE and more EFFECTIVE politicians to be put into office. Black candidates appealing to the diverse views of a diverse district would be freed from the left wing/progressive juggernaut that dominates Black political discourse.

IF ONLY YOU ALL COULD PRODUCE EVIDENCE OTHERWISE TO SHUT ME UP

The ironic part of my assertion is that it is ME that will be attacked for seeking to dismantle these Black Majority Gerrymandered District. Those who seek Black Progress through the view of "Black head count" in the legislature and mayors offices will see this as a set back for our racial development.

It is also ironic that as dejure racial segregation takes place as natural housing patterns in a metro area has Black people living in highly concentrated Black areas is seen as a threat to the academic interests of Black people. Many of the same people who prefer to draw a Black district to insure Black representation are also the ones leading the charge to insure that a Black student receives the "benefit" of sitting next to a White one.

My stated goal is to push the Democratic Party and Progressivism out of the RACIAL NUCLEUS of Black people and out to the periphery. From the periphery they are expected to work to earn the favor of Black people by delivering results. This proposal is a threat to certain "Democrats who are Black". Those who have the most to lose in their affiliation with the Democratic Party and who are comfortable with their Progressive ethos will most strongly oppose this.

Why then won't people who are interested in the Best Interests Of Black people get them to itemize the benefit that our communities have received from its current orieintation. No not the "Black elected official head count" or the fact that we have a Black president in office. I am talking about the fruit in the community with regard to:
  • The Education of our Children
  • The Safety Of Our Communities
  • The Economic Standing Of The Areas Where We Live
  • Our Healthy Lifestyles
As we talk about reform of the financial markets and the health care system on a national level as a means of obtaininng better results therein - I can think of no greater need for reform and a "back to the drawing board" reformation than to look at the Black communities around the nation and see the problems that are resident.

What is there to lose - aside from the "same ole same"?
