System gets probational status; seniors will graduate with accredited diplomas
In the strange world of Black Progressive Politics - there are pats on the back being distributed for the restoration of something that should have never been lost in the first place.
Such is the case with the school system of Clayton County.
After a decade of chaos with a battling school board and a revolving door in the superintendent position NO ONE stood up and demanded responsible leadership for the benefit of the SCHOOL CHILDREN. Too many of the people who were happy to see the "Black head count" increase failed to focus upon the ultimate point of their political activism - the DELIVERY OF QUALITY EDUCATION FOR THEIR CHILDREN. (Note I cannot say "Democratic Head Count increase because the White folks who proceeded the current line up were White Democrats).
I am not one who is celebrating as they are basically back to where they started after taking several steps backward.
I am happy that the students graduating this year will have accredited diplomas which will help their acceptance into college. They were not the one's who did anything wrong. It was the adults who had failed them.
