Blacks at Odds Over Scrutiny of President
This Washington Post Article comes as no surprise to me.
It shows the consciousness of some people and how their present political activism has been misplaced by their loyalties to the political establishment rather than to toward the Black community.
It is clear that as a people we initially engaged in political activism for a particular purpose - to improve the condition of our communities and to insure that as equal Americans and equal human beings - we were treated with equal rights according to the law. In as much as our common fate as a people was to "stay back if you are Black" there was an inherent unity by necessity. Today we can't afford to be "unified" for unity sake. This does little more than suppress ideas.
Yet, just as politics makes strange bedfellows, it is also the case that diverted consciousness can have you focused on the headcount while losing sight of the real purposes of your mission.
I have said for a long while that the source of the problem is the under-developed and subjective bias of the Black Establishment and Black Activist class who stream messages to the Black community. They realize that the Black Community is fairly desperate in seeking resolution to our perplexing problems. Thus in as much as the establishment and activist class has been able to channel the Black vote and political sentiment in a certain direction (progressivism) this was sold as the means of solving the problems within.
It is ironic that some of the very same people who were on the attack against those who questioned the movement (ie: Tavis Smiley) have themselves come under attack as they themselves began to question the Obama movement. Decades of favorable commentary by Tavis Smiley was trampled over by the "Obama Manhood Protectors". Despite their drive toward "civil rights" for Black people they are intolerant of free speech that goes against their mission
I have called out the "Attack Sheep Dogs" for at least 8 years. They are the enforcers of "Black Unity". In their view they possess the "real Black agenda" and anyone who diverges from them is not only wrong but is an agent for the "White man". Let me more clearly say "the Conservative White man" because they love themselves some Ted Kennedy and Keith Olbermann who are liberals. Those who are now under attack have no one to blame but themselves for they have in fact cultivated this spirit when they were on the "inside" and "Da Man" was not to their liking.
SOLUTIONS
The key way to solve this problem of the cannibalism of dissent is to clearly articulate some fundamental principals that all combatants can agree upon. Anyone who has followed this blog knows that I have taken the lead in defining this list after carefully listening to Black people of all stripes:
- Safe Communities
- Quality Schools
- Thriving Local Economy
- Healthy Lifestyles
- Comprehensive Scope
- Organic Solutions
It is not that hard people.
Some people confuse the tactics with the strategy. The methodology (tactics) should always be up for debate. If someone finds a way to move 100 yards forward faster and more efficiently - others who are committed to the same end point should yield to the superior methodology rather than attempt to destroy the conductor because he is "taking your flock".
The evidence that those who have spent their careers "speaking truth to power" are now strangely silent because of the favorable political conditions is so clear to everyone. They base their appeasement upon the favorable "headcount" of Democrats and Progressives in power. I challenge them to back up their contentment with DATA UPON THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
According to the National Urban League - Blacks are still only 70% of White folks. The closure of this gap will come from WITHIN rather than from more favorable Black elected officials operating within the American political system.

Is this a joke? You actually had to "carefully listen to Black people of all stripes" to figure out that black folks need Safe Communities, Quality Schools, Thriving Local Economy, Healthy Lifestyles, Comprehensive Scope, and Organic Solutions?
Wow.
Well, since you're so smart: exactly how is it that you're going to make this happen?
What's your plan? It seems to me like you have no more of a plan than all the people you complain about.
Anonymous - I am not sure who you are as several people post anonymously. I will call you "Not the smart Anonymous one" for easy reference.

You see "Not The Smart One" - IF I DID NOT work to document the common "Permanent Interests" of Black people and enumerate them PEOPLE LIKE YOU will accuse me of either making it all up or working on behalf of "White Conservatives" or some other stupid sh)* that you all always come up with.
I am a methodical person who seeks SOLUTIONS but first understanding the problem. You clearly are a Progressive who seeks to roll over any threats with the growth of elected power - no guarantee that this will result in a fix though. Popular yes. A fix, not certain.
And by the way "Comprehensive and Organic" is ABSENT IN MOST PEOPLE'S LISTING. They are far more interested in what is in agreement with what they already believe rather than ever considering that despite having a favorable solution - it fails on the issue of organicism and thus the people are left dependent.

"Not The Smart One":
Can I analyze your taunt above as grounds for dismissing it?
You are demanding from me, one Black man, MY PLAN to do something as a justification for my critique of the Black Establishment. I ask that you show me proof that YOU have ever DEMANDED A COHERENT PLAN from those who are in power over your community.
I am executing my plan. My plan is to come to any debates with intransigent people such as yourself with a STRUCTURED SET OF ARGUMENTS with the hopes that YOU and OTHERS can realize that despite the POPULARITY of your views your AGENDA is out of alignment with your PERMANENT INTERESTS. I can bring forth the data to prove it.
"Not The Smart One" - how is it that today you have more people in power who are agreeable to you and yet the key problems within these same communities linger?
After seeing this, however, you have the audacity to ask ME - a critic of this establishment "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO DIFFERENTLY?"
Imagine that I had a drug that purported to cure you of your ailment and the Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chaser has a suite of drugs. You load up on the drug cocktail of the BQPFRC on a daily basis currently but YOU have the audacity to demand that BEFORE YOU STOP TAKING THEIR DRUGS WHICH ARE FAILING YOU.....YOU ask ME to prove the efficacy of MY DRUGS before you are willing to stop taking the BQPFRC drug cocktail and move my way.
If you had any independent guidance YOU WOULD NOT TAKE ANY DRUGS and instead understand FOR YOURSELF your own ailment and then seek a solution that is matched to YOUR AILMENT - even if YOU have to craft your own drugs.
Don't play we me. I dated a chemically imbalanced girl long ago who's only benefit was her phrase "Don't seek to spend quality time with people who are not serious". You could learn from this.
So let me get this straight. Your plan... is to argue with people? That's your plan?
Well let me ask: how is that working for you?
Three words: talk is cheap. If black people argiung about stuff was able to solve problems, then we'd be in Nirvana right now.
Now you ask me, where's my plan? But look, I'm not the one with the holier than thou, smarter than thou, I have a plan and you don't thou. I'm not into that kind of pretense.
You say you've got plan, cool. Show me the goods. Give me a link to show me how the plan you enacted lowered the crime rate, or improved student test scores, or whatever. Impress me.
Now hey, I read your blog, I appreciate the outrage and the information. It's all good.
But I don't see where you're any better at making things better than the people you bitterly complain about.

Dear Anon -
I make no pretense that I have "A PLAN TO SAVE BLACK AMERICA".
My primary goal is my family and their care and feeding.
I am simply attempting to call certain Black operatives upon their CLAIMS that, upon supporting the present order that our fate will be improved. Some people have the audacity to get upset AT ME for daring to inspect what we have received in the way of benefit and begin to ask questions.
They prefer to take the FOLLOWER disposition and assume that we should be so happy that we have elected Black leadership.
Anon - I can only wish that you begin to enforce A PLAN upon those who you seem to prefer and not just me.
AGAIN - our community seems to not require a plan in exchange for their political support.
