What is a sellout?
A sellout is a person who normally spits on a person who is violating their own core principals but upon the arrival of a "new violator" who they otherwise like, decides to keep their spit to themselves because they don't want to "trouble their PERMANENT FRIEND with the consideration of their own PERMANENT INTERESTS".
It comes as no surprise that with Black Politics so biased in favor to the Democrats that a Democratic elected official is more inclined to get a pass because there is less of a desire to firebomb him and risk damaging his honor. This is the case even if he violates everything that the usual attacker stands for.
Bill Clinton was defended by various feminists for his antics against certain women. In his case it was the thought that Paula Jones was being financed by "right wing operatives" that gave the left wing feminist forces cover as they 'saw through" the setup and decided to join in on the attacks against the women victims rather than calling out their guy. Some lamented that Clinton had some more for the cause of women than he had done harm in sexually harassing them thus their support is justified.
Fast forward to Barack Obama and the present Wars. Today I heard on the news that for the first time there is video footage of dead American soldiers and their flag draped coffins returning from war. The Obama Administration has decided to rescind the Bush era ban on pictures of this solemn event. Many on the left who attacked Bush for this ban praised Obama. If you stopped your analysis here you'd be pleased.
You see one must look at the full context of this situation. It comes as no surprise that those who would be looking to exploit the pictures of dead soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan come from the LEFT. Thus - in as much as the left sought to embarrass and take down Bush - the pictures of the "blood on Bush's hands" proved valuable.
These same operatives have no particular inclination to cast Barack Obama as a war criminal. Despite the fact that every Friday the PBS News Hour reads out the name of dead American soldiers as they have been released by the Pentagon - the shifted focus of the mainstream media in support of our new president would have most Americans believing that our soldiers are no longer dying in the wars now that Obama is in command. Clearly the media changing from attack dogs over to lapdogs plays an important part in the shaping of public perceptions. The reason why this coffin ruling is immaterial is because there now is not blood in the water to turn these images against Obama. Obama can close Camp Gitmo, ban waterboarding,.....so many other things. The critical point of this particular conflict has passed and the risks of doing many of these things are not as dire.
Afghanistan - the Just War.
As I have noted several other times - It is not the facts of the issue at hand but the presence of some operative who is willing to pick them up and run with them, exploiting them for their own purposes that matters the most.
Obama has pitched the Afghan War as the "just war" and Iraq as a distraction. He claims that the next attack on the USA or Europe would likely come from Afghanistan. Absent a left wing media to challenge the veracity of the heightened risk of this primitive country's ability to do this - Obama goes unchallenged. Obama will have no "Mission Accomplished" moment in as much as those who scoured Bush's actions to find something that would stick are less inclined to bring down Obama. Instead they seek to make sure that the Republicans don't return to power.
This all brings us to Barbara Lee, Maxine Waters and Lynn Woolsey. Staunch anti-war legislators under Bush they now are forced to make more calculated moves with Obama as they actually NEED HIM FOR SOMETHING. The previous use of grenades tossed over the wall that do indiscriminate damage against the Republican Administration must now be traded in for more precision armaments so that no damage is done in the way of collateral damage.
I am not making special note to these 3 women. They are doing what most left wing groups are doing - Making the judgement that they can get more out of the Obama Administration in the long run by not bothering him with their Permanent Interests in that regard.
In as much as they are inclined to GO OVER THE TOP in their tactics against the adversarial administration it is just as true that they are inclined to be STRANGELY SILENT against their PERMANENT FRIENDS.
This duality is where the Black community gets harmed the most in general terms. When the Black Political establishment FAILS THE BLACK COMMUNITY - there is no force who is inclined to throw the necessary bombs to reoriented them. After all WHO WANTS TO BOMB THEIR OWN HOME?
