Don't worry we trust our Democratic elected officials when they say that he was not lynched. I am sure that the NAACP will have a joint press conference with their Democratic brothers who run the county some time this week - just as they did with the other death.
Inmate found dead in cell at county jail. Man was expected to plead guilty in court on the day of his death
Prince George's County police are investigating the death of an inmate found dead in his cell at the Upper Marlboro jail at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, the day he was scheduled to plead guilty in court.
Charles Rhodes Cooper, 33, of Cheverly was found in his cell by corrections officers and taken to Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, police and corrections officials announced in a press release. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 5 a.m.
In their press release, police said there were no signs of injury or trauma at the scene.
"There are no obvious signs of suicide," said Maj. Andy Ellis, spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department. "Obviously there will be a very thorough investigation."
According to circuit court records, Cooper was scheduled to appear before an Upper Marlboro judge Wednesday on charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault, armed robbery and burglary dating back to an Aug. 28 robbery.
Details of the incident were unavailable.
Sharon Dukes, a spokeswoman for the Prince George's County state's attorney, said Cooper had been scheduled to plead guilty on the charges in exchange for a 50-year sentence with 25 years suspended. She was unable to comment further.
Cooper had been housed in the jail's education unit, where he was pursuing his high school degree, officials said. Police were unable to provide his date of birth or other information, but said his next of kin has been notified.
He had been in the jail since August, police said. He had no known injuries or physical conditions. Ellis said he did not know if Cooper was in the cell by himself or shared it with another inmate.
Cooper's body was taken to the Maryland Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore to determine the cause of death and to have a toxicology report performed.
The death is the latest in a series of operational problems at the county corrections facility, where another inmate death is under investigation and the former director was fired for security breaches, including the loss of several guns from the jail weapons locker.
Cooper's death marks the 17th case where an inmate has died at the Upper Marlboro Corrections Center since 2000. The center houses about 1,500 people awaiting trial or sentencing in the county. Only Baltimore city's facility, which houses twice the number of people, has had a higher death rate in the same period.
Last June, Laurel resident Ronnie White, 19, was found dead in his jail cell less than two days after being charged with murder in the death of Prince George's County Police Cpl. Richard Findley.
The guards allegedly told investigators that White hung himself in his cell when he was left alone for 15 minutes. A report issued in September by the Maryland Medical Examiner ruled White's death as a homicide by asphyxiation. A grand jury is reviewing the case.
White's death raised new concerns about security at the jail. Cameras and other evidence that would have provided information about the teen's death allegedly failed to work or went missing during the investigation, including a bed sheet White allegedly used to hang himself. Two corrections officers that have been the focus of the case are currently suspended.
County Public Safety Director Vernon Herron did not return a call to his cell phone immediately. Government critics said they were shocked by the news.
"This is insane," said Jerry McLaurin, a spokesman with the group People for Change, which has been following the jail issues. "This was not supposed to happen. … When is this going to stop?"
Note - YOU WERE TOLD that it was "going to stop" when you got Democrats and Black folks running things.
Clearly you were lied to.
The problem is that you are too smitten by your PERMANENT FRIENDS to do anything about having your PERMANENT INTERESTS pursued.
Oh how life is grand in the wealthiest, majority Black county in America that is run by Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chasers. Many of the people might start moving to Montgomery County to live because they feel safer around White folks. And at least the White folks are Democrats.
(I have to get another jab in because of the name "People for Change". If the dead inmate had a stuffed monkey placed beside his dead body the group "Color Of Change" would have come on the scene......looked for the nearest WHITE guard and went after him as the killer.)

Hey there! Hope I’m not bothering you, and if I am…just hit that delete button :) I don’t mean to spam you, which is kind of what I’m doing but I mean no harm! My friend has launched a site called AFaithfulSoldier.com honoring our country’s military. Its basically a community for anyone related to or in the military and in it she sells Dog Tags (Personalized) for a great cause. 15% of all the sales goes to Soldier’s Angels charity which helps the families of people in the military or injured soldiers that come back.
Not trying to convince you to buy anything…BUT if you do have a free minute to take a look at the site and find that you like it...I was hoping and going out on a limb here to ask if you could perhaps place a link somewhere on your site or make some minor mention anywhere, it would be such a great help! Of course, in return I'll have your link added to the site as well. Also, Soldier’s Angels will be releasing a press release about AFaithfulSoldier, so it would be great to get as many supporters for this great cause as possible! Let me know your thoughts if you have any on the matter, and again, if I bothered you, I apologize!!! I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for a good cause. You have a great site btw, keep up the great work!
