The Progressive Lesbian Feminist Lobby

Yesterday I was treated to an interesting set of ideas on the radio. Sunday, March 8th was "International Women's Day". I happened to have my car radio tuned to WRFG - "Atlanta's Progressive Radio Station", having listened to it from the night before.

The show that I listened to had 3 Black females who discussed the various forms of "oppression" that females face, especially women of color.

The show host, I noted, had a nice voice and spoke perfect English as she set up the topics for the show.

The first "Progressive Feminist" stepped up to the plate. She talked about the "oppression" that the "Prison Industrial Complex" has upon women, especially women of color. Women who are pregnant are incarcerated. During child birth SOME OF THEM are handcuffed to the bed via their legs or arms. This is "sexual oppression" in the mind of these Progressive Lesbian Feminist Lobby.

Of course there is no mention of if the inmate did anything that required her to be restrained. As always it is "the authority" that is at fault. I am tempted to investigate the official policy of the state of Georgia Correctional System on this matter but....in the end this issue fails my PROPORTIONALITY filter as being worthy of my time.

And this is my primary complaint of this "Progressive Lesbian Feminist Lobby" that I listened to. They make use of the entire orchard across America in order to CHERRY PICK. They are able to assemble a ransom note as they compile together all of the various incidents that shape their reality.

The next "Progressive Lesbian Feminist" took to the microphone. She talked about how women needed to "Control Their Bodies". "When to have children. When to choose not to have children. Who to have sex with. On what terms to depart a sexual relationship". Trust me friends - any child that she has it is far more likely that there will be a surgical instrument involved rather than a male penis doing the insemination of the egg.

Then she did it to me!! The old tired "Abstinence Only" argument. She noted how ideologues advanced policies that were not effective and which put children at risk because it spread information and sometimes lies in order to be in line with their ideology rather than what works. The co-host asked how much the federal government spent on Abstinence Only Education. She replied $14 million per year. This should not only be considered from the stand point of pushing a plan that DOES NOT WORK it should also be noted how other effective programs have their money taken away OR their messages are suppressed as a result.

This pisses me off folks. I hate when people talk around the facts but end up telling a LIE in the process. Abstinence Only Education has ONLY EVER taken root in certain towns in Texas and Indiana which are more conservative oriented. It comes as no surprise that the large, liberal dominated school systems that BLACK PEOPLE are concentrated in DID NOT MAKE USE OF "ABSTINENCE ONLY" policies. Thus the critical inspection must be made of their claims.

How do you charge that a "drug has killed or sickened the people that you are concerned about.........when THESE DRUGS WERE NOT DISTRIBUTED TO THEM in the context of them being made sick or having died"? This question is not important to them nor was it a part of their concerns.

Their goal was to advance their PROGRESSIVE agenda and to make a hit on CONSERVATIVE sexual dogma.

Let's continue. They talked about the scourge of HIV upon the Black community. They said that HIV should not be seen by our churches as a "consequence of certain behavior"........but as a CIVIL RIGHTS, HEALTH CARE RIGHTS, SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So let me get this straight.........

Abstinence Only Education is a FAILURE as they point to young people who are pregnant or have STDs ....even when THEY DID NOT TAKE "AO" classes

BUT

THEIR agenda to transform HIV/AIDS infections into a Civil Rights and Social Justice issue should be held up as a reference standard DESPITE THE FACT that the #1 killer of sexually active Black Females is HIV and the #2 killer of Sexually active Black males is the same? (The #1 killer of young Black males is murder).


Some things make me wonder if I AM LIVING IN A BIZARRO World.

Some people figure that if they frame reality WITH THEIR OWN WORDS and keep repeating them passionately that the truth or the facts will turn out to be different. As usual the BLACK CHURCH needs to TRY HARDER!!! Dispense of their bigotry against people who engage in certain sexual behavior and focus on the Christian ethic of helping those in need. (NON-JUDGMENTALISM 101!!!!!!!!)

In truth what this group of Progressive Lesbian Feminist Lobbyists want is to make use of these key issues which their present influence over has FAILED to correct and instead to fight their ideological enemies who dare stand in their way.

To be clearer: A person with HIV is NOT a victim of their own choices of behavior that put them at risk. Instead it shows how little the government and the community that they live in has PROTECTED THEM FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR BEHAVIOR. As with so many other Progressives - the government should come in and act like a prophylactic that inserts itself between the person in question and the risk that they engage in.

Add this to my list of WHY I COULD NOT VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA!
They used the "possibilities" of his presidency as an opportunity to advance their agenda now that the "conservative ideologues" are at bay.

I told you in the past that Barack Obama is like the "Verizon Wireless man". The people who accompany him are more troubling than the man himself. The entire package that comes along makes him an unattractive choice for my interests and the interests of the INDEPENDENT Black Conscious community.
