I Have To Admit It: I Do Not Like The Raven's Ray Lewis After The Atlanta Killing

Lewis' gamble doesn't pay off

Ray Lewis - Wikipeida & 2000 Murder Incident In Atlanta

There you have it. I am admitting it.
After the incident during the SuperBowl in Atlanta in which two Black men, Jacinth Baker, 21, and Richard Lollar, 24, died on the street from their stab wounds my regard for Ray Lewis has never been restored. NO - RAY LEWIS DID NOT DO IT!!

I will further add that I am the #1 supporter of the right to SELF DEFENSE!! If someone is seeking to kill you - kill them first.

The bad taste that I have for Ray Lewis is mostly directed at the Black community who defended him from the jump. No one has to make the case that if everything else was the same EXCEPT that this was a White sports figure and 2 White friends of this player had KILLED 2 BLACK MEN, REGARDLESS of the justification......there would be a contingent of Black protesters at each and every game that this millionaire player participated in. Further more the sports league itself would be the constant target of protests, saying that "THEY don't respect the lives of Black people" or "They allow killers to play".

We all know that the combination of the killer being Black AND the victims being Black lead to the actual results.......Ray Lewis, who's limousine the killers got into as they sped away suffered no consequences to his career or his image with respect to the average Black American.

I can make note of Lewis' leadership on the field and his aggressiveness. My memory of the series of events surrounding this incident prevent me from heaping praise upon him. Maybe its just me?

This is so telling of the PROBLEM that we have as a people.
