Obama Didn't Call On No Black Reporters - I Am Sorry Hazel Edney I Was Wrong About You

Black Press Complains: Prime Seating, But No Question At Obama Press Conference: 'We Were Window Dressing'

I am honest enough to admit that I was wrong.

8 years ago after Bush had his first press conference as president I saw an article on the National Newspaper Publishers Association web site by Hazel Trice Edney. She complained that in Bush's first press conference no Blacks were called upon.

The NNPA web site allowed readers to post comments. In my response I slammed Ms. Edney, accusing her of "manufacturing a faux news event" with the purposes of stirring something up with Bush for Black folks who were easily roused to spit upon him.   In my message I suggested that we now had to go back and scrutinize all of Bill Clinton's press conferences in order to discern if he indeed called on Black reporters lest he be a racist.

I was WRONG ABOUT YOU MS. EDNEY. I am sorry.

You are indeed CONSISTENT with your claims.  You are, quite possibly, an equal opportunity victim.

The Black reporters in the room complained that "one of their own" failed to call upon them.  There is little doubt that the majority of them voted for Obama and will continue to write "sweet nothings" about him as they do their jobs streaming the "Democratic Central" message into the Black community.

Beyond this fact of life - I am man enought to admit that in this one case this one Black reporter was consistent across the two most immediate presidents.

Now if only they can start reporting on how despite the fact that the political machine that Obama now leads has total domination of the Black community there is such a big GAP between what has been promised and what has been delivered.  Most certainly with the combination of local domination and now federal domination (and in some cases state domination - Maryland, Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey, etc) that the Democratic Party should be made to ANSWER to the Black community. ONLY A BLACK PRESS THAT IS COMMITTED MORE TO THE BLACK COMMUNITY THAN TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CAN PRODUCE THIS CHANGE.

Yes, and Amen!!! If only black people would be committed to more than the "disparities" of black community without regard to their own culpability than we might see positive changes.
