Pardon me everyone while I get this out of my system.
1) Holding President Barack Obama ACCOUNTABLE - Just As They Do Any Other President?
The first thing I thought of when I read this article was "The Source Magazing". It seems that having a Black president has motivated "The Source" to CHANGE. They will no longer accept porno adverertisements a because they are seeking to live to a higher standard in line with their motivation for "The Black guy in Chief".
The NAACP is following a similar course.
For me this entire statement lacks credibility. You see - an organization shows it character by what it has done at the LOCAL LEVEL. Then you can work your way up to the top to see if it this claim has meaning. Is there a better example anywhere among another group of people where an organization such as the NAACP has in fact DISCRIMINATED in their reactions to a politician based on
- His Party Affiliation?
- His Race?
(Some of you all think that I am making this stuff up)
Most of these chargers are COVERT as, for example, the long list of cities with Democratic Mayors and Public Schools that are failing Black people, the dangerous environments that Black communities are erroded into for INNOCENT people, the failed policies that produce unemployment (or to be consistent with my "heat/ absence of heat" framework - policies that suppress economic activity) - the ABSENCE of protests by the NAACP against their Democratic Party brothers and sisters who are in office is STUNNING.
On the more OVERT front -
Even liberal, Democratic journalist Courtland Malloy had to bust upon the Prince Georges County NAACP for having a JOINT MEETING with the Prince Georges County elected leadership over the killing of a Black inmate who was suspected of killing a cop. Normally the NAACP would be having protests AGAINST the county and FOR justice for this Black man and his family. In this particular case - they stood on stage along with the elected Democratic leadership. I take it that they didn't want to fray their relationship with their buddies. No doubt that a few of them will congregate together BOTH at the NAACP convention AND the Democratic National Convention.
Side note - I told of a phenomenon where I have been invited to a local charitable banquet where a local elected Black Democratic politician is invited as the key note speaker. He gets on stage and tell of all of the problems that the institution that he governs has and its negative impact upon the Black community. Then he functionally gets down off of the stage and leads the Black people forward in a march AGAINST some external entity who he convinces the Black crowd is RESPONSIBLE for the current sitution.
Well - this situation in Prince Georges County is an example of the REVERSE:
In that case you have a "Protesting Organization" COMING UP ON STAGE ALONG WITH THE POLITICIAN in a joint appearance to tell how messed up a situation that was done while in the domain that is controlled by his Democratic buddy is. All of this being done to stem the tide of angry protests by a crowd that wants JUSTICE.In closing on #1 - Since the NAACP has failed grossly to hold their less powerful Democratic buddies accountable - I surely don't expect them to fight for the BLACK BEST INTERESTS against PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA - when necessary.
In their minds - and this is key: HIS ELECTION IS THE EPITOMY OF "BLACK BEST INTERESTS". Why on EARTH would they position themselve AGAINST an Administration that THEY SEE as having come FROM THEIR OWN WOMB?
Do you see the danger of having
- The Black Print Press
- The Black Journalists
- The Black Opinion Writers
- The Black Blogesphere (Especially nearly all AfroSpear affiliated web sites.)
- The Black Civil Rights Organizations
all adopting a sitting president as an ACTIVE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR?
It is nearly IMPLICIT that they are NOT going to do anything to undercut the very administration that they voted for
- Even If It Does Something that EFFECTIVELY Harms The Long Term Position of the Black community
- Most especially if it does something that FAILS TO ADVANCE The Black Community's position
The #2 point is the most FREQUENT occurrence among the Black Democratic Machine. We look at the "Black head count" among the ranks of elected officials rather than the BOTTOM LINE ACHIEVEMENT OF OUR GOALS as evidence that our community is being served by the political process
2) The NAAACP As A Human Rights Organization
You know sometimes I get pissed off at the ability of a person or entity that has the POWER to CRAFT THEIR OWN IMAGE without anyone inspecting themselves for who they really are.
The mechanical reason why the NAACP and other organizations have been able to do such "self-definition" as such is because the Black Press with its own bias is not inclined to look at the dire needs within the Black community and point out how these legacy civil rights organizations and, more importantly the Democratic Machine that dominates our communities have failed to effectively address these problems within.
In totality, however, I cannot blame the SYSTEM that these biased men have entangled upon the Black community. It is the BLACK COMMUNITY ITSELF WHO IS TO BLAME for allowing these operatives to sculpt such an array and call it THE BLACK BEST INTERESTS as expressed through this lens.
The reclassifiication of the NAACP from a "Civil Rights Organization" to a "Human Rights Organization" needs to be further analyzed. This is both upon the actual meaning of this, but, more importantly - how this actually translates into benefit for our community.
Everyone who reads this blog knows that I have been gunning after the machine that dominates the Black community in regards to the gross and frequent CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS that are taking place WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY as it relates to CRIME and the SYSTEMATIC ACTIONS of a group of loosely coupled consipirators who are orchestrating these crimes. The absolute FACT is that the NAACP and other affiliated groups are unwilling to label these aggregate actions what they are - CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS of INNOCENT BLACK PEOPLE - by BLACK PEOPLE who are often invovled in some illegal commerical activity - namely DRUG DISTRIBUTION.
I will need to do more research to see if by changing the name of a rose from "civil rights" to "human rights" provokes the NAACP to go into action for the defense of INNOCENT BLACKS WHO ARE BEING SYSTEMATICALLY TERRORIZED by purging the bad apples from the bunch.
The NAACP has been practicing "Justice Thurgood Marshall Justice" for long beyond the time that it was necessary. Now instead of seeking to make VICTIMS out of Black Criminals who were done wrong by the SYSTEM they now need to focus on how these Black individuals who conspirate against OUR COMMUNITIES are operating like a quasi-corporation. The NAACP needs to use the same tools and framework to take down these operatives who threaten our community.
How about labeling the "Black Drug Thugs" into "Black Republican Drug Thugs"?
I bet that this change would send the NAACP and other groups into action.
