Obama Predicted To Improve Black Test Scores

No No No.  Not through any particular policy or funding initiatives.  The gravitational pull of seeing a Black president is expected to get the segment of Blacks who had been underachieving to start doing better in school.

Isn’t it a stretch to conclude that there is an actual effect on test-takers over such a short period of time, in such a basic assessment, with such a small sample size? Since they were all adults, I don’t see how this could be perceived to have an effect on school-children. I recently posted on the effect of the Obama Effect and it may cause more harm than good at http://edublog.teacherjay.net/2009/01/30/the-obama-effect/
